    JFGI.

Copyright infringement is the violation of any exclusive right held by the copyright owner. Infringement may be intentional or unintentional. Often called "innocent infringement," unintentional infringement occurs when an author creates an ostensibly new work that later proves to be a mere reproduction of an existing work, though the author was unaware of the identity between the two at the time the copy was made. For example, former Beatle musician George Harrison was guilty of innocent infringement when he released the song "My Sweet Lord," which a court found was the same song as the Chiffons' "He's So Fine," only with different words. The court said that Harrison had "subconsciously" borrowed the Chiffons' unique motif.

Non-trivial amount of work? If they already have a demo of the game ready (and they bloody should. no demos IMO result in more people pirating the game to 'try it out') I doubt a big effort is needed to make a floating-camera benchmark and some scripted effects.

Better yet. If company X didn't have the money and wanted to get better results, they'd have to *gasp* optimise their drivers. Thus a win-win situation for gamers because the game would probably run faster as well.

What I don't get is why game developers don't release freeware benchmark versions of their engines.
Saying that a config has 9000 points is pretty much useless. Saying that it gets an average of 40FPS in the UT3 benchmark at high details, and 1680x1050 is much more informative.

Unfortunately, this also is a little bit more complicated, and as we know everything simpler is more popular with the dumb masses.

A typical processor and monitor contain five to eight pounds of lead and heavy metals such as cadmium, mercury and arsenic.

At least you can download during night without the caps kicking in. My ISP (only one available where I live) dropped download caps just last year and I'd never want to go back. Not only are the prices steep, but the caps were insane. 5GB for 512kbps, 10GB for 1mbps and 20GB for 2mbps. The prices are around $29, $45 and $60 accordingly.
