    RAID can be used to make two or more disks appear as one larger disk. It's nice when your backup disk is bigger than your primary disk.

    Actually in the newspaper business the 25 cents is to control waste: to stop you from taking fifty copies to insulate your cottage. The operating costs and profits come from advertising dollars. Like the networks, that are now trying to get cable to pay them for the feed while they keep the advertising rights.

    I found the process far more interesting than the choice of technology. I find it interesting that he drew each layer completely, even if it was going to be over written. I always try to figure out shat is not obscured then draw only that. Obvously I'm not an artist, nor do I have any training.

    I have a strong feeling that he admitted to the act (I won't call it a crime). That in a school setting is enough for action. I expect that if he had said "no not me" then he would still have accommodations and probably a lot more scrutiny of his internet actions than before.

    Best, and by a long shot, is how Google came to be damn-near ubiquitous.AltaVista (for search) and Yahoo (For directory) had the lions share of the market. Google was just another one of hundreds attempting to gain a foot hold in the market, until the first time you used it, then you never went back.

    I put the value of the car at 0. Basically, in my case, my insurance is more than an unlimited pass, I have no paring costs and can do everything on public transit except day trips and vacations.

    If I continue to own my car then it costs more to take public transit, but not by much. If I sell my car and take public transit I save a few grand a year, assuming I rent a car one weekend a month.
