How can anyone be this bad at their core business?
I'm a member of two class action suits against Equifax. The first, ongoing since 2008, is because they violated the Fair Debt Reporting Act. I was also affected by this data breach. A quick Googling reports that there are at least 23 class action suits for this latest incident alone. In the scummy consumer credit marketplace incompetence is de rigueur.
First off, medical research is in no way a "zero-sum game". Finding an effective treatment for one form of cancer is a good thing. It's a net plus. It in no way detracts from the knowledge we have about other diseases. The progress we have made in this area could very well lead to treatments for all kinds of different illnesses.
There is a lot of medical research being done. Some of it pans out and some of it doesn't. Using this good news as an opportunity to lament about all the diseases we do not currently have a good treatment for gives me great concern about your ability to reason.
We haven't had an formal enemies in a long time. Even during the Cold War, prosecution was for Espionage and not Treason. Why? Not even the USSR was our formal enemy.
Stop calling it the "Cold War" then, because as you have rightly stated no formal declaration of war made. Nuclear powers tend not to declare war on one another. It would be unseemly.
I guess the other people we bombed since World War II weren't "formal enemies" either, using your definition, because technically we never declared war on them. It's nice not having enemies. It makes for a happy planet.
There is very little evidence for a causative relationship between seeing a doctor regularly, and good health.
OK, fine. I'd recommend doing it anyway. You really want to catch serious illness before you start feeling like shit. By then it's often too late to do anything.
I just found out I have avascular necrosis in both hips. I feel fine now. Left untreated I'm looking at two total hip replacements some day. Having this information I can at least take steps to slow down the process and hopefully avoid some future agony.
The court system is not about justice, it is about power, and that's the sad truth.
The lawyers I know are the first to admit that the court system is not about justice, but conflict resolution. I've heard the same thing so often I strongly suspect that's the first thing they are taught in law school.
That being said, if this guy is seriously considering voluntary surrender to the US I would be genuinely astonished.
You shouldn't get to drink a Coke, either (or drink one for 12 cents) just because you don't feel it's worth it to pay the retail price.
Thanks for letting us know how you feel. Next time someone hands me a Coke I will tell them "No thank you, Impy the Impiuos[sic] Imp doesn't think I should have one. While it is true I didn't seek his approval he nonetheless has made it clear that one should pay the retail price for each soft drink consumed. Therefore, I must decline your kind offer."
"Infeasible", as in you just don't know? Do you know anything about this new job you've gotten? I see you don't know the scope of it, do you even have any idea what the job entails?
If I was new at a job, I'd work a little harder to demonstrate that I'm competent to do it.
I don't care for the abuse on the word "literally" either...
Why not? Don't words have meaning? Isn't it important for people to be able to communicate effectively? I'm genuinely curious. (I almost put "literally interested" but had to restrain myself.)
When someone uses the word "literally" incorrectly they are either ignorant of the meaning of the word or trying to convince you of something that is literally not true.
We have many more than two choices. For instance, several house and senate committees could initiate investigations and the justice department could appoint a special counsel to conduct criminal investigations and prosecute government officials found to have committed crimes. Oh, snap, that's actually what they did. As it turns out, there are more than the two choices your limited mind could conjure up.
Sick days without a doctor's note are a problem in the US, but because of your broken health system it is impossible to get same day appointments for acute conditions
No, actually in reality it isn't. It's entirely possible. I can call my doctor anytime day or night and he'll take the call. If he doesn't feel like dealing with me, I can go to an urgent care center, one of the many pharmacies that have walk-in clinics, or the emergency room at my local hospital. It's really easy. You just walk in and see a doctor.
I see, now. You are from Europe. You obviously don't know shit about shit what happens in the US, you just like spouting nonsense. Maybe you should get your head examined. Be sure to get a doctors note while you are there, detailing your mental infirmity.
Strange thing about the article you linked to is they list weight loss as a benefit of donating blood. OK, it makes sense if you poke a hole in your body and let fluids seep out, you will weigh a bit less after the procedure. But certainly you make up the difference in short order. I just thought it was weird they went with that instead of reduced blood pressure.
Pro tip: you can also lose weight by sticking your arm in a wood chipper.
I don't think Trump "misunderstood" the science; he didn't have any understanding of the science in the first place.
Trump has been consistently wrong on every issue. I keep waiting for him to make a mistake and accidentally get something right, or perhaps just try it once just to see what it feels like, yet incredibly it hasn't happened yet. It's really extraordinary when you think about it.
The guy was a gynecologic oncologist. There might be a non-purient reason for his having pictures of little girls hoohas on his computer. Were these patients of his? Was he researching a case? I wouldn't consider that against the law. Pediatricians see naked kids all day long. Doesn't make them perverts.
And let us not forget that Kucinich put forth 35 articles of impeachment for George Bush [slashdot.org], including war crimes, including taking the country to war under false premises, but the then-leader of the Democratic party (senator Obama) chose not to prosecute because "it would divide the nation".
There's a reason he's hunkered down on a ranch in Texas painting purdy pictures. He can't leave the country, or he'll be held accountable for the war crimes he committed while in office.
It' is best not to prosecute ex-presidents, especially when you are next in line. Start down that path, it will come back to haunt you the day you leave office.
Ok Google, I get it. Us plebs don't deserve good security.

I've been audited once and the IRS sent me a check for the amount I overpaid plus 14%. It was the best performing asset I had that year.

This is an insane regime building nuclear fucking bombs.
I can't tell whether you're talking about North Korea or the Unites States.
Maybe they will abandon their unviable communities out in the middle of nowhere.
There's this invention called the automobile which allows people to travel great distances to obtain needed wares and services.
Just pointing out that planning to be a drug dealer meets the criterion for having a future plan.

It seems like Tesla failed to implement some common sense safety protocols here.
Like going 74 mph on a road with a 65 mph limit? If the car is not even going to observe basic traffic laws the game is over before you start.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the mass of the sun is one solar mass.

It's not much of a challenge. That's like betting someone you can buy a bag of chips from a vending machine.

So, fun fact, in the US, if your doctor writes a prescription for an Epipen, you CANNOT choose an alternative delivery method.
What you can do is call your doctor to inform that the prescription they wrote is unaffordable and they'll need to come up with a better solution.
Hope that helps. You guys seem to have a lot of problems navigating simple everyday matters.

Oh, and the US is a Republic, not a Democracy. . .
True. They should be representing the will of the people. That's the whole point of a Republic, right? I wish they started doing that.
