Tell that to the thousands of people with Creative/SanDisk/whoever Media Players. If this patch where to break their players (or mine for that matter). I would be right pissed. Lets say Apple broke FairPlay one day, that would be 58 million pissed iPods.
Here are my results after running the application. It appears my dual core 1.83ghz Core Duo CPU needs to be upgraded already. On top of that, my Geforce Go 7800 appears to be lacking. This just goes to show how out of touch with reality the studio's are for trying to push this crap on people.
My guess is 0. People that use/enjoy iTunes Music store do so because it is easy, fast and of good quality (in their book). I can't think of one person that buys music of iTunes because it has FairPlay DRM on it.
Or maybe your company needs to wake up and hire more people to get installs done in a timely manner? A window of that nature is just crazy. If something goes down here at work (say, maybe our file server falls over) and I tell someone, "Sure, I will look at that on Thursday between 3pm and 5pm" I would be out a job.
While Net Neutrality is a matter of US law, it is a huge concern for other countries as well.
Lets say that you have a company in the UK, and you don't pay AT&T the "happy, make it fast" fee then all your consumers in the US (on AT&T) will go to your competitor that did pay their extortion fee.
We could also take it the other direction and just wait for someone like AT&T to say "wow, those Brits sure are accessing a lot of US hosted company sites on our network...lets just make all of the UK pay an extortion fee!"
Or imagine you are me. You live in Plainville, KS (town of 2100 people). I want to buy a new DVD...okay. I have to drive 23 miles south to the closest Walmart or Hastings. So, my ride gets about 24mpg on the highway. So two gallons of gas + cost of movie = $5-15 + nearly $6. Looks like $9.99 just got more attractive...
I currently have 6mbit DSL from AT&T for $27.99/month. You do of course need a landline...so you have to pay about $10 for a metered line. So for $37.99 I get 6mbit, that is about as cheap as it gets in the US. As a "benefit" you get unlimited incoming calls too;)
He ripped all his CD's in Windows Media Video format? Wow...that is dumb :P
Just in case you aren't aware of this great feature...
There has only been one Zelda game and one Mario game since then. One game is not "long long ago".
That isn't exactly true. In the Zelda series we have had the Minish Cap and Four Swords Adventure since Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask.
Nope, they will add a fourth with the EULA for the RFID features.
Benchmark Doom on it!!!
I can't see them matching the installed base that will rumble into place as soon as Sony get their act together.
Sorry man, Sony users don't rumble anymore...
I hate to nit-pick, but your third line in each of those tables should be: 1|0=1
I know you were being funny, but I just had to show how cheap this really is.
Isn't it obvious that they meant it took 20 years to hit 1 million, then three years after that to hit 2?
This will work well until a few idiots playing with "MacSaber" make me have to flee town due to the forth coming Tsunami!!

I would have used Pluto, but that poor guy just doesn't carry the clout he used to :(

But who will eat all the pizza rolls?

Isn't that bah-luu-e?
It means Open Document Format...geez, some acronyms are just easy...
Where exactly did you stick the battery in your iMac?
Oh...there isn't a battery in your desktop?
Sorry man...I know a few people here in Plainville/Hays that read /. :P
I have lived here for like four years.

Wow, they get one month to pull off a large scale upgrade...
Oh where are my +1 Funny points when I need them!
