I don't think spying on students is going to make these kinds of schools more legitimate. If anything, we need laws requiring these places to warn potential students that the value of the education they receive may not be what they expect.

When it's time to copy (probably 5 years for CD & DVD, to be safe), use the same guidelines to choose the new medium.

Windows 95 was the Microsoft answer to the Mac. Don't make the mistake of filing "playing catch-up" under "bad business plans". Microsoft's market share and revenue directly contradict that notion. Both have been waning slightly, but Microsoft is far from failing.
