And to hell with recliners. They are terrible people. Resting your plastic seatback on the knees of a tall person for hours in order to achieve a 1% improvement in your own comfort level is the height of insensitive cloddery.
They're both aiming at Microsoft, the company that makes all the money in this space. You don't see the same level of love and happiness in their core businesses.
The problem is obvious. They used a virtual fence instead of a fence in the cloud. A fence in the cloud would obviously be hand-wavingly cheaper, way more reliable, highly secure and infinitely scalable.
Dear USA Gov: I am happy to consult on this issue and assure you that I can implement a fence in the cloud at half the price.
When you are driving in your car and run over a nail, it's often cheaper to just patch the tire rather than to replace it. You're generally back on the road faster as well.
That's a fair position to take. We should be critical of all governments. But scroll through the comments here or on any other/. article related to China and you will see plenty of regurgitated anti-China propaganda that does nothing to advance the conversation. That is what I am referring to as crap.
I would pay extra as well. I know we're a niche market, but you'd think setting aside a single server in the farm would be profitable. No age verification necessary.. Just assume those willing to shell out a few extra bucks have real jobs.
I actually gave up on WoW because of the maturity level. Tried Aion but that was even worse. If one of the MMORPGs did this, that would be my game. For now though I'm done with MMOs. Hanging out with a bunch of obnoxious teenagers is just too annoying.
The possibility of a lucrative exit allows the smaller companies to attract the sort of talent that is necessary to actually deliver the technology that NASA is looking for. This is hardly irrelevant.
Agreed. Internet search is too important to be so dominated by a single corporation. Would love to see someone else mount a viable challenge to Google, but if it has to be MS for now, so be it.
It shows how badly the people analyzing the worm would like it to tie it back to a super-secret Mossad operation.
..or how badly the guys from Symantec would like to make the news.
Unless of course he was referring to RIM's company motto.
I'm with you, but isn't a post that says 'I don't get it' the opposite of +1 insightful?
Don't forget about the free advertising that they get for taking this action.
Rackspace just got 10% cooler to all of the lefties on Slashdot.
Cuil.
It's still there but unfortunately the search results suck.
Same here. I'd pay extra to stand.

if you could 'do' you would have. because you can't, you 'sell'. we know that; and yes, we do judge you for it; and not in a good way, either.
'Selling' pays your salary, allowing you to 'do'. It's not easy, and many engineers cannot 'do' it.

Cheaper and faster?!? Did you miss the delivered by an awesome robot part of the video?
Aw come on, not +1 Funny? Vulgar farmville jokes should be exempt from the troll mod.
Wait, how many billions do smokers contribute again? Way more than they use on healthcare?
Seriously. As a smoker, all of you whiney non-smokers should be thanking me. If it weren't for us and the gamblers you all would be screwed.
Yeah. Focusing on banning lobbyists from American politics is like focusing on border enforcement to fight the drug war.

Mod informative. With all of the anti-China crap that we see around here we need more posts like this that attempt to explain instead of accuse.

AC post of the week. Mod up.
Please do not refer to Redmond as the east half of Seattle. They are Redmond. We are Seattle. Redmond sucks. Seattle doesn't. and so on..

Mod insightful. A new form of parental control. That actually makes sense.
Damn straight. The appropriate term is cyber-netizen.
True but I may need to make an emergency Scrabble move.
Hey! My mother's a joo, which in turn makes me a joo you insensitive clod!
