    but sadly I've been unable to get the ATI all-in-wonder tuner to work in linux... not that I've tried too hard yet...

    Don't bother working too hard at it. Last I heard none of the all in wonder cards worked with MythTV and no one really seems to care since the hauppauge cards work so well.

    Sorry Pete, I read the SLTrib RSS feed regularly and they almost never mention you. I did catch you on KPCW a couple of weeks ago though... it wasn't nearly as much fun as listening to Hatch and Blair go at it the next day though :-)

    It also doesn't help that no one knows who he is. I'm in Utah, actually knew he was running and yet I have barely heard a word about him. Its too bad that the DNC says they want to take the house and senate but completely ignore races such as this one. Hatch is just about unbeatable but it'd be nice if they at least pretended they cared about us out here.

    It's not just the Clinton Administration. Any economist you talk to will likely tell you that 2-3% unemployment at anytime can be considered "full employment". The reason for this is because at any time a number of people can be technically unemployed but about to step into a new job.

    It most likely was not really using 200Mb of memory. It's far more likely that you simply do not know how Linux memory management works and what the figures in 'ps' mean..

    It's most likely you just don't know how to read. The phrase "when Windows starts paging" it has nothing to do with 'ps' or Linux memory management.

    Where as WMP 9 (or was it 8) decided to DRM all ripped MP3s by default.... I for one have never seen that from iTunes.

    Almost all the Netscape 5 code was discarded early on in the Mozilla process and Netscape 6 and 7 were just built from the Moz source with a new skin and new spyware^H^H^H^H^H^H^H additions.

    but yeah Moz has been around awhile too....

    I've found that he doesn't know shit. I have yet to see him give a bad review to anything made by Apple, Palm or Microsoft or a good review to anything made by anyone else and I've been reading his column on and off for 3-4 years. When he stops getting paid by Apple, Palm and MS to "review" their products I'll stop "talking down to Mossberg".

    Gmail stores all your messages forever even after you have deleted them.

    Did you actually delete the email or did you archive it? Archive != Delete. Archive just moves it out of the inbox which is just a virtural folder.

    it's 5 years for hardware and 3 years for software. I actually just did a tax return for someone yesterday where I did just that.

    Hate to tell all you anti-Reagan (see I can actually spell his name) Liberals but you can thank Reaganomics for your tech stock options of the 90's (Clinton just sucessfully did what was right and stayed the hell out of the way). Huge Government spending of the 80's focused on military technology R & D and when those technologies hit the private industry you got high paying tech sector jobs with stock options thanks to Reagan.
