I was about to write that Jenny McCarthy's rantings, while misguided, wrong and (yes) dangerous, still fall under free speech. Those that follow her lead are nominating their children for the Darwin award.
Upon reviewing the limits to the Freedom of Speech, I've found that her rhetoric can fall outside of free speech as outlined by Mill's harm principle. If it can be proven that her rhetoric is a danger to public safety, maybe she'll shut up.
What would a business or government look like if it were more like a wiki. One constraint being that only citizens or employees would be able to contribute. Either would be an interesting experiment to conduct.
I would amend that human beings simply don't want to think and make up their own minds about something. As an example, when I ask my wife what she wants for dinner, she will immediately turn the question back to me. Being immature (and not wanting to decide on what to eat), I give her the same treatment.
I have a theory that if a person had the option to let someone else make up their minds for them on every aspect of their lives (with the promise that their best interest and well being were in mind), they would give up their freedom.
A study in LA in 2005 (sorry don't have the source) showed small amounts progesterone in the drinking water. Whether from people flushing or simply urinating the hormone away, I don't know. But such studies explain why my wife is only drinking filtered water during her pregnancy.
Don't get me wrong. The technology is interesting, albeit limited to battery life. But the images in the article look a lot like a series of datamatrix barcodes. These are already widely used in many industries.
My completely scientifically unfounded guess would be that it's what's left of some sort of bio-matter that was trapped long ago and was pushed up by warming waters or released from receding ice.
the developers didn't submit code to the ESRB. The packet submit to the ESRB includes video of the game and descriptions of material of note ("character makes racially inflamed comments at X cutscene" or "suggestive character animations with Y action").
It's been a while since I've been in the industry and I only had to prep a packet once (pre-hot coffee). If anyone feels they should correct me with recent changes, please feel free.
It's a pretty simple act of watching a tape and reading a report for the ESRB. They have a set of rules put against the information given and apply the rating based on that.
i++; is essentially the same as the statement i=i+1;. If you have multiple threads running at the same time you can potentially lose data should more than one thread try to assign i the value of i+1 at the same time.
What with all the achievement and stats losses reported on the major consoles, it's just not worth it to start hoarding achievements on another platform. I'm totally over this carrot on a stick.
