The system I had in mind is similar to the picture below (see link) I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to mfg something lass than 6" wide. The motor wouldn't' need a clutch per say as it would always be engaged either generating electricity or providing power. You eliminate the battery, alternator, and starter. Then throw some batteries in recesses along the frame.

most hybrids (GM) at least basically have a motor wedged between the engine and transmission. The engine and drive line are exactly the same as the non hybrid versions.

This being said I recently purchased a trusty 92 Corolla which after a little tweaking and cleaning up gives me over 40 mpg. how hard would it be to mfg a adapter kit between the transmission and engine similar to what GM does.

a big part of the problem is we keep building unnecessary crap. I know in our economy this is not beneficial but why not take cars we already have and update them.

If I ask you to save my data then I accept that I am giving permission to said company as is. In other words it now is my responsibility to look over all disclosures.

The inherent problem however is there is no means of specifically identifying a person. first and last name no longer work. you can assign them a unique code but most people get tired of bringing around and ID card for every business they do business with. Thus you are forced to use a.) a phone number which is subject to change, social security ID, or credit card number.

So though I do believe they should be held responsible for negligence and saving information without expressed permission. I do think the credit industry as a whole is responsible. There needs to be a fixed ID system which is separate from the credit system (as in credit score) and governmental ID systems.

This one ID bullshit needs to stop. Each person should have a superficial ID which can be changed at request. A credit ID which requires in person transactions (loan etc) a government ID and a health care ID. all of which should be maintained by different independent agencies.

I chalk it up to capitalism vs ACLU. Insurance companies in order to remain profitable must limit their risk. In order to do this you have to control how people live there lives. The ACLU and like fight the concept of control be it direct or indirect.

When you have a culture of like heritage, and like belief and values (Japanese) it is much easier to have narrower controls because everyone has similar perspective.

The US by definition is different people living together. What I think is interesting is the definition of risk. Some of the most heart attack friendly people I know are as skinny as a q-tip. However due to stress, long hours, and poor diet, there health is questionable.

Will the government also mitigate my boss calling me at home, or forcing me to work weekends and miss lunch ?

Thus behavior such as this has nothing to do with health as much as it has to do with profit aka capitalism.
