Why would anyone want a small form factor when building a gaming pc?
That just makes it harder to fit enormous graphics cards in the case. Is that supposed to be a green selling point?
Also, why have wifi access? That sucks for online gaming because of its unreliablity.
Other than that, looks like a sweet build. Good price too. Computer gaming really isn't that expensive it's been looking like lately. If your buying a computer, might as well pony up a little more moola and play games on it too.
I wasn't saying I never ever want to play any sequels, I'm psyched about Golden Sun DS!
But I feel like the games in TFA are pretty played out, and I just don't see them going anywhere new with them.
I've never looked at a Guitar Hero setlist and thought: "there just aren't enough songs here."
usually I'm very impressed with the songs, and I consider myself to be a music geek!
you're always overpaying for the right to play the latest thing.
This brings up an important point related to TFA.
How are game developers making any money?
For the most part I can go to a game store and get any game used. The only time this isn't true is when the game first comes out, and no one has traded in a copy yet.
So then the only time developers make money is when the game first sells, or when someone decides they don't want to buy used.
So my point is, a developer's primary market is those people you describe, who pay for the right to own things first. So those people you describe, are the ones who are (according to my logic) driving the video game market, and voting on its future with their wallets.
I think another important thing to think about is that the economic problems we're having right now are going to stop people from buying a new console, if any company was going to put one out.
Really, It would just be suicide to try to make a PS4 right now.
yeah I don't see the point of Microsoft and Sony even trying.
The casual gaming market has been won by the Wii. The reason for this is that the Wii is cheaper.
There are other consideration of how the Wii has advantages over the PS3 and the 360, for example the Wii has the rights to the recognizable faces of the Nintendo franchises (Mario etc.).
But Sony and Microsoft can close the gap in some ways to court the casual gaming market. They have the chance to create killer apps for their motion sensor controllers. But the one thing they can't change is their price.
And that is going to kill them, because a casual gamer wants a low-cost system.
On the other hand, the 360 has the best online play and content distribution out of any next-gen console.
I'm pretty sure that no-one can disagree with this.
That could be a huge advantage in courting the casual gaming market.
This is a battle that Microsoft and Sony are trying to fight, these motion sensor controllers can only be realisticly be used for casual gaming purposes. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.
I remember when I used to listen to the internet radio station http://www.3wk.com/. When I first started listening, they were a thriving website. There were no ads, only every now and then would they have a PSA on air telling you that you could become a subscriber, and they would have a downloads page where you could download selected songs every week.
Then the fees for broadcasting over the internet skyrocketed, and the site turned into an epelectic siezure of flashing ads. Every few songs would be interupted by a Geico ad, and it wasn't the same place I grew to love.
I think the companies need to understand how to deal with the internet, and know how to not choke it off, because it's here to stay.
Hopefully this acceptance of music streaming will allow internet radio stations to start thriving again.
It seems to me you're not being fair to the Guitar Hero franchise.
Remember that all of the Guitar Hero games have been release in a span of four years.
The Super Mario Bros. franchise has spanned from 1985 to present and you're saying that Guitar Hero hasn't had enough innovation compared to Mario Bros.?!
I was going to point out all of the innovations that Guitar Hero has made in four years, but I think that including an entire band of controllers is enough to show that the Guitar Hero franchise is innovating at the same rate that the Mario Bros. franchise is when you consider that Mario Bros. has had a LOT more time to innovate.
Specs aside, I will make an entirely subjective claim and say that the graphics in Playstation games looked better than the graphics in 64 games. And isn't that what really matters?
Where was the Starfox or FZero or Kid Icarus or SOMETHING that I personally enjoy?
There fix'd that for you:P.
I'm mostly just messing with you, I agree that Nintendo is being pretty boring. I saw that title and thought: "New Mario: don't care. New Mario Galaxy: don't care. New Metroid: don't care."
These were all sweet games when they first came out, but I don't want to play them again. Even if they change parts of gameplay, I have little interest in playing a sequel (or more accurately, another installment in a long series).
I think that you live up to your name, because I don't think your analogy of planned parenthood is very relevant. Sanchez doesn't talk about an argument between actions and speech as you do.
Also, weren't the sophists looked down upon by Socrates because the sophists would simply use ill-formed logic to make people believe in a point (here is the wikipedia article on Sophists http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophists)? You say that debate brings out the truth, but a sophist's debate wouldn't if they just argued one way and didn't use logic.
I don't think that truth can be gained from a debate. All you do in a debate is yell and chest-pound. Truth is obtained by thoughtful discussion between people who know what they are talking about.
Sanchez makes the point that we have too much chest-pounding and Column A Opinion vs. Column B Opinion: Choose one! and I agree with him.
I also think that monster ecologies would be cool. Kill all the fur seal in freezly land when power leveling and fuck... they went extinct. Kill all the predators and shit we are overrun with disease carrying rats!
Ultima Online actually did this when it first came out. It was removed when it turned out that there was a small but sufficient minority who enjoyed *deliberately* exhausting a resource for no other reason than the sheer joy of screwing over all the players who needed it.
It would be cool if they had that mechanism, but if someone over-hunted animals, they would break the law and be a marked man.
Then it would be up to the other players to hunt them down and bring them to justice!
This idea appeals to me because I hate bots and farmers etc. in MMORPGs.
I think there's still importance in quality regardless of market.
I think you don't have to be a PRO LEETZOR GAMER HARDXCORE to spot a shitty game. I think that anyone who's half-way intelligent and going to devote time to sit down and play a game is going to be able to say "okay this is fun and interesting" or "this is neither fun nor interesting, who is this mama and why does she cook?"
But you are right in pointing out that as non-gamers paradoxically become a bigger gaming market, marketing is going to be more important, and giving a game a shiny package is going to be a big deal.
The game could get a lot more interesting if you could do things like forcing shop-keepers to hand over money in their registers, instead of only having the option to buy items from them.
I wish the gaming industry would care about control interfaces less and worry about gameplay more, but on the other hand I feel like the idea of alternative control schemes besides a normal game controller is here to stay.
And I have to admit, if I end up getting a next generation console, it will be a wii (that is if I ever get bored of my PS2:P)

Do console companies give money to developers to develop a game only for their console?
Yeah okay, it would be entertaining to play a multiplayer game of super mario...
For about five minutes.
Then I would want to play a real game.
I don't understand how every person reviewing E3 needs to mention that. It's not that cool. It's not original.
you're always overpaying for the right to play the latest thing.

Retardball Z? No thanks.
Dude you are so insightful. You cut right to the core of Dragonball and looked at its soul.
"Retardball?" I'm still laughing at that! You win the internet.
yeah I don't see the point of Microsoft and Sony even trying.

Don't see too many ps3 exclusives these days.

Well the new Golden Sun game isn't coming out for the Wii.
If you already knew that, disregard me.
It's strange to me that they are releasing FFXIII and XIV at basically the same time. Wouldn't they want to spread the dates out?
:X
If they released XIV later, the MMORPG could use the time to add polish, which mostly any MMORPG needs when it is first released.
This also means I have to decide which one to play when I have both
Are you trying to troll?
Well I'm not going to feed you!

Giving this a +5 insightful is kind of ironic don't you think?
Oh no you're already +4 insightful, it's going to be a recursive loop!
haha I feel the same way. It's never seemed pointful to me.
I also think that monster ecologies would be cool. Kill all the fur seal in freezly land when power leveling and fuck... they went extinct. Kill all the predators and shit we are overrun with disease carrying rats!

You could do this in GTA: Vice City.
It was awesome.
