It's not called a monopoly, but a backup of the American financial system.
When the biggest banks of this country fail and you look in your wallet those plastic cards that you so loving hold will be useless. The mortage on your new house won't go through because hey where is the capital to do it? There isn't. We need these big financial giants to stay afloat.
I am all in support of bailouts with regulations. The deregulation of the financial industry caused this mess. It's time to put them back in their place. It appears most politicians agree with me.
Pfft The problem at the state level is the fact that states differ far to much on many things to make such a system work. Heck the whole civil war was fought on states right. The South took state's rights to heart and look where it got them! Yeah they lost.
Hell we should just dissolve the Federal Government and become a 50 tiny states. Much like Europe (without this EU mumbo jumbo:-p )
I have an intense passion in classical music. Yet I want the ability to travel the world and support a life style that is atypical to that of a musician.
Passion vs lifestyle. It isn't as easy as it sounds
Just because the markets are hurting right now doesn't make students more likely to apply for a career in CS or IT. Heck you can do far more broader things with a business degree or an MBA than you can with a degree in CS.
It's called libel. We have the right to free speech, but we don't have the right to make up stuff willy nilly about people. From what the article said the student called the teacher a sex addict. That sounds like libel pure and simple to me. In the world that lands someone in court and you can end up either being forced or settling for some god awful amount of money against you.
The student can be thankful that she just got suspended and not dragged into a court over this. Then again I'm waiting for a principal to actually sue a student over something like this. That would be funny!
This will work really well and appeal to the inner geek!
Take out a home loan and apply for it online! Easy quick cash and since you did it online it's pretty geeky!
Ok I'll bite.
So I guess it's legal for me to take satellite TV signals that are being bombarded into my yard and decode it so I can get free HBO and pay-per-view porn!
I'll fight this by downloading more movies, music, and software over the internet.
Heck I would even download a car or a clothes illegally off of the internet if i could;-)
This is incorrect. After working at a radio station for three years now the reason you hear the same "fucking" song on multiple stations is because it's popular. OTA radio stations want ad money and popular songs give that.
Ithaca College has already bent to the demands of the RIAA. Their administrators will release the information of any student to any organization claiming to be working for them. It's almost embarrassing.
I hope this changes. I really do.
I personally hate watching fireworks on TV. They always dub some annoying song over top of the show so I can't hear the explosion and cheering. Especially over the fourth of july. I hate watching fireworks with "America the Beautiful" over top of the explosion. I want to hear the bang!
Geeze! They just didn't pay overtime wages. Slaves would be making them work after they were off the time clock.
I wasn't paid overtime for my 43 hours of weekly service once. You know what I did? I went to my HR lady and told her what happened. Two weeks later there was a mysterious 32.50$ in my paycheck.
But seriously there are more pressing issues that could use that meager 12 million dollars. How about we cut the defense spending in half and invest it in alternative fuels? That way we won't need to milk other countries for oil.
My super over simplified view of the world is entirely mine and no one else!
Instead of fancy press releases why doesn't open tech say this instead:
Bring it Apple!
I mean seriously this is all they are doing. I hope they can get enough capital to stop Apple's legal department.

This can be logically stated as Post Hoc.
A occurs before B.
Therefor A is the cause of B.

Power thirst! Duh.
In Soviet Russia, you don't work on Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris works on you!

Just charge an arm and a leg for the address. Check to see if you can pull a six figure price for the domain. Seriously go for it!
What's the range of a viola? about 250 ft.

This sounds oddly similar to Splintercell 1. Maybe Nicholadze is real and Sam is actively working to stop this menace!
Let's post a copy of the powerpoint slide in as many places as possible. If it works for Barb and the MPAA it'll work for the Great State of Mass!
Hackers hacking hackers? That's a mouthful! What's next? Bankers banking bankers?
