Just wait when they ban laptops because of explosive batteries! Terrorism on a plane is just pointless for this reason alone. The passengers will fight the fool to his death.
I can see it now, "According to the State of Maine, this device may cause cancer. " We're all going to die one day. Whether it is by cancer, car accident, or natural causes I don't care.
All in all that doesn't matter. This is just another example of ignorant politicians. As a sound designer these dB SPL levels are USELESS with a reference point. 85 dB SPL at 10 meters from a source is a busy room, while 60-65 dB is general room noise. Also 120 dB SPL is the threshold of pain. At or above that our body starts to respond by desensitizing and tinnitius.
In incremental doses our body adapts to loud sounds. Limiting headphone output is a farce and manufactures should focus on limiting outside interference. Never use ear buds.
I must be in the minority. If I don't know a person I won't add them as a friend. Heck I've gone through my friend's list and purged out people I don't talk to or in other instances strongly dislike from way back in high school. I also don't play Mobwars or Farmville which is just a needless waste of time. I avoid them because I would become engrossed in it.
And if you look at the ever lovely Slashdot FAQ you will see that it is a US based company with US based news. Just google any and all acronyms that are unfamiliar.
Maybe they should head to Universities such as Brigham Young or more traditional christian schools. They might find some kids there who have never seen it before.
I feel like I have been spoiled by the solid 6 years of time XP was on the market. I literally remember using XP in 8th grade and running it well up to my sophomore year of college. That is a HUGE amount of time. Microsoft can make huge gains by keeping the price of upgrades cheap. Cheap meaning 30-50$. They will have a happy pirate free user if they did that.
Regardless if global warming is a problem, we should ALL strive to lessen our effect on the environment. Restricting emissions that may not heat up the planet, BUT have noticeable problems on health of humans and wildlife. I feel like I have to remind people that even if global warming is false we should always do what we can to conserve our resources and lessen pollution.
Is your head. Plain and simple. Never write a password down on your hand and NEVER on a sticky note on your monitor. Make at least two or three passwords. One for forum and slashdot and another for banking and secure sites. Use firefox's "master password" lock and set that password to your third password.
I love how ignorant tech writers love calling something the "killer". Kind of like how PDAs are dead and Palm back in its day started coming up with new acronyms to compensate for this death. PDAs never died, they changed into smartphones. Kind of like how GPS units won't die, they'll roll into converged units. Smartphones with standalone GPS units that use AGPS as an assist will start popping up more and more. Hopefully the obnoxious paid services like VZnav will disappear with time.
I don't believe in luck. The problem at the LHC that occurred over a year ago was a mistake and not the machine destroying itself in some weird physics different universe crap. The Chicago Cubs aren't doing well because well, maybe they're a bad team. Like a really bad team and need to do a complete overall to maybe start doing well. For the record I hate baseball and I don't care or follow it.
I'm wondering if more students have been getting college loans and then leaving the country and changing citizenship. Basically you get a job abroad and renounce your citizenship and stop paying your loans. Cruel I know, but makes you wonder.

Don't think so, my 1985 300D Mercedes is still going 338,000 miles strong.

They're freaking pirates! This woman is an idiot if she expects any money from this. It's not like she's seeding a movie!
I've had success using Frontotion's Firefox Community Edition. Check it out. http://www.frontmotion.com/Firefox/fmfirefox.htm

And why is this modded troll? This is by far one of the most insightful comment here.
This is a US based site, with it's webmasters who are US citizens. The FAQ has a section on this.

This information is really useful. He should have known better to post that everything he is doing is for "education purposes only" sadly.
DARPA is just going to claim that the weather balloons are pockets of swamp gas.

What is a USP? Come on guys I normally am able to get most of these acronyms, but this is too much.
In all seriousness this is going to look like my 1st or 2nd grade math book. That was a hard cover comic book!
