So wouldn't it make more sense to set efficiency standards rather than trying to cut overall emissions? That way you can develop rules that apply fairly to both industrialized and developing countries.
Are you out of your mind? There is a widespread "standard": control-A means select ALL (that's what the A stands for). You change it in your software, you are in fault.
And context means nothing? As I type this, CTRL-A only highlights the contents of the editor window, not the whole browser page. Does that mean it's broken by your standards?
And in typical slashdot fashion, you demonstrated that you are a fucking idiot that shouldn't breed.
And in typical internet fashion, you must rely on insults instead of valid points.
A UI that breaks expectations is broken. MS established a certain expectation over a period of decades, and then broke it. That was the complaint.
So your argument is that systems should never evolve? Every version should behave exactly as the previous version? That once something has been established, it is written in stone and should never be changed?
First and foremost, it highlights the data that is selected. So if you're making changes without looking at what's highlighted, that's you're own fault.
and will only select and sort column A and B.
ONLY if you have the cursor in the data containing cells of A and B. If you put the cursor in the data containing cells of D, it highlights the data in D. If you put the cursor in column C between the data in B and D, it will select the data in A through D. Anywhere else and it selects all.
Pressing CTRL-A twice, regardless of where the cursor's at selects all.
It's not too difficult to figure out and all your problems could have been prevented if you had paid attention to what was happening instead of blindly making changes.
It's absolutely the reason I did not buy the game when it was orginally out. It looked like some tribal guy covered in mud and held no interest for me. I ended up playing it later and loving the game.
its safe to bet that MS will be forced to port DX10 back to XP due to the low uptake of Vista.
You're forgetting the part that if DX10 was actually available for XP, you'd still need to wait for the video card companies to develop new drivers. It's not going to happen. That's too much time and money.
Haven't followed PC hardware lately, huh? The new ATI card is rumored to use 300W by itself. And power supplies are maxing out at over 1,000W these days.
There are really two issues with this problem that are getting mixed up: the price error and the unauthorized charging of credit cards.
I think Amazon should be able to demand the items be return or to bill the people for the price of the goods. They should not, however, be able to automatically charge credit cards. If a business is owed money by an individual and they have that individual's credit card information, they can't just charge the credit card without authorization. It's even worse for those who used debit cards (and bad charges are the reason you shouldn't use debit cards for purchases like these) and had cash taken out of their accounts.
An interview with the samba guys on FLOSS weekly (twit.tv) said they had talked to someone in the SMB group at microsoft and the only reason for smb2 was to "f*ck with samba".
"My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night."
I did not like Oblivion at all. I liked Morrowind and spent countless hours playing that, but gave up on Oblivion after just a few hours.
I consider myself a PC gamer. I prefer games on the computer and have played very few console games since the NES. That said, Final Fantasy XII is the best RPG since Baldur's Gate II. I'm not even a Final Fantasy fanboy, having only played VII all the way through, and a little of VIII.
And I think that a swing too far in the opposite direction would be just as harmful as the (current) swing in the direction of extreme patentism (hah, I just made up a word).
Would there really be much of a downside if patents dissapeared altogether? I'm sure we would probably lose some obscure and rarely used devices that are never licensed anyway, but companies could then focus on using technologies that fit their needs, rather than just what they can license. I'm not convinced that there would be a large hit to the development of new technologies.

The Ocean House Hotel was one of the creepiest areas I've ever played in a game.
The argument about NN isn't about whether or not ISPs should be able to give certain type of traffic greater priority over the others
It really depends on who is doing the arguing. The point has been a bit muddled and it's hard, sometimes, to get people to agree on specifically what they're arguing about.
Since the specs for Vista is a minimum 40GB with 10GB free
That's only the specs to be declared "Vista Premium Ready". The "Windows Vista Minimum Supported System Requirements" are a 20GB HDD, so your partition is probably fine. I'm willing to bet the HD requirements are inflated and you won't even need that much.

I invented the music industry!

Nothing out of this world and definitely not WOW.
You need the 64-bit version for that.

Well, I purposely watch only unpopular programs. If the rating go up, I'll have to stop watching.
Three: death, taxes, and this stupid joke.

Someone should really let programmers know there are more than two letters in the greek alphabet.
Pre-Alpha Five, indeed.

Still, I'd really like to know that my child is on her way to the hospital, rather than find out potentially two hours after-the-fact.
Why? What can you do? Be the obnoxious parent that gets in the way of the health care providers?
How does Tylenol make money when generic acetametophin is available?
People like name brands.

You can slipstream the fixes into your install CD, too (along with registry settings, drivers, applications, etc.)

would be a big fucking waste of time for everyone.
Welcome to Slashdot, you must be new here.
I preferred the Time Machine series to CYOA. They seemed more detailed and in depth. The one I remember most in the one with the pirates.
