Why do HD topics always bring out the people who feel the need to justify their own decision to stick with SD (and sound eerily similar to the no TV camp)? If you don't want to swtich, that's fine, but stop telling those of us who can afford to switch, who do see a significant difference, and who actually enjoy the increased quality, that we're all idiots.
If Rockstar had no legal leg to stand on, as most here seem to think, why didn't EA simply fight it? Surely they have the legal resources to mount a defense.
Unless they were worried that Rockstar had some legitimate point.
It seems to me that a better solution would be to allow users to download at will when the bandwidth isn't saturated. As downloads increase, start throttling speeds to users based upon how much they've downloaded over a given period. This way infrequent users will still be able to download at good rates during peak times, and bandwidth hogs will be able to download to their hearts content during off-peak times. Best thing for the ISP is they don't have to cancel anyone's account and continue to collect their fees.
I wonder why Comcast and other ISPs don't do this. Is it too expensive to implement?
I've been using one for years. It took a little time for me to adjust to it, but now I greatly prefer it. I will never go back to a regular mouse or trackball if I can help it.
That is a very old trailer before a ground-up remake of the game. The old version was very tech and clean - the new version is much grittier and violent.
It's a shame they decided to go a different direction with the game. The older trailer looked more interesting.
No, the only reasonable way out of this mess is to ban developers from playing on the main server. CCP refuses to do that so there will always be a conflict of interest.
Two GPUs on a single card? Who the hell needs that kind of power?
Never played Crysis, huh?
B-b-but OpenGL is better than DirectX! I read it on Slashdot!
Would this have stopped the 9/11/2000 attacks?
Well, they weren't stopped, but they were postponed for a year.

Seriously. Is it to difficult to type "to be released?"
Where'd this game come from?
Coincidentally I was also running ReiserFS on my system at the time and remember having a hell of a time getting the recovery tools to work...
So Hans murdered your data as well?

You must be a Microsoft shill, then.
Maybe you just need better speaker cables.
Who uses a phone line to access the internet? What are we? Savages?

What's the REAL Solution though?
Install Windows.
(Turnabout is fair play.)
We warned them.
So did Loki.
That worked so well for Columbia.
You don't pay for rights. Rights are inherent (or God-given, if you prefer). You pay for privileges.
Welcome to America, you must be new here.

It's probably for the best. It's one of the few MMORPGs that interested me. I guess I don't have to worry about falling in that trap now.

Seems like another Black & White in the making.
And having *two* indexers running at the same time introduces a
...bug that deletes words from Slahdot posts?
How is this different than Sharpton calling for Imus to be fired? (Except for the vandalism part.)
I am absolutely annoyed at the way he absolutely over-uses "absolutely".

Aftermarket coolers are useless for most users.
And how many those "most users" read Slashdot or Hexus?
