If I had 5 cents every time I heard "[x] might be able to cure [y] cancer", I'd be a millionaire. If it was for every time I heard "[x] actually detects/cures [y] cancer," I'd be on the street begging for spare change.
Been a while since I read Dante, but as I recall, all they do is lug heavy stones on their backs, while moving on all fours (when they can). How exactly is that better than burning in a pit of fire?
Joke's on the unbaptized babies though, as they'll just squish underneath the stones.
I love Firefox, but its memory usage is ridiculous. It slowly eats up all the memory on my Ubuntu machine (with 2 GB of RAM) until I shut it down. If Google Chrome was available for Linux, I'd ditch Firefox in a second, if for its exorbitant memory usage.
I still can't believe that the team claims that the memory use is "normal and intentional". For fuck's sake, Compiz takes up less resources.
What I want to know is, how is it that Goofy can talk, while Pluto can't? Who are they kidding? And am I the only one disgusted by Goofy and that.. that cow dating? Won't someone PLEASE think of the children??
I was mostly referring to move to Mac OS X without any regard for hardware backward-compatibility with OS 9. I would like to see PC's completely move to 64-bit architecture, and support 32-bit instructions via software emulation, see ASCII abandoned in favor of Unicode, and see FAT32 completely disappear.
I'm still at a loss to understand why FAT and ASCII still persist in modern society. I mean, I understand backwards compatibility and lack of support, and all that other bullshit that's the reason why we're still running substandard 32-bit bottlenecked systems, but if Apple can cut the cord, why can't the rest of the industry?
I loved Bender's Big Score, but I agree that the last 3 movies have been a departure from the usual for Futurama. I don't blame that so much on the writing, however, as on the fact that it's difficult to stretch what's usually a 22 minute episode into an hour-and-a half.
That said, I have every movie, and do not regret buying them, with the faint hope that extra sales will push Fox to re-release the brilliant show that was cut in its prime.
I have to admit, however, that even the movies have some of the best one-liners and geek jokes around - like Fry's polygamist girlfriend's t-shirt depicting "for all X, I love X" in logic notation, as well as some of the best one-liners: "You do a nice 'hand' job, Zoidberg"
I'm fairly certain that Futurama will do a LOT better as a TV show.
I'm not sure that's the case. Apple has something Microsoft does not - a cult following, and a completely different user base (). It would take some catastrophic off-the-charts fuckup to put Apple into the same boat as M$.
I use Ubuntu, but I find comparing speeds between Linux and Windows silly, if not amateurish. Neither runs the other's software (without proper tools, and even then it's not nearly perfect), so what's the point?
Well, it could work, if you replace Soap with SOAP, and Ribonucleic Acid with Robo-DNA
:qw!
Then someone will assume it's a Labrador Retriever, and PETA will get involved.
Someone's acting awfully aluminum...

I'm looking forward to seeing Melllvar again.. Oh wait...
I would cut off your head, dwarf, if you stood but a bit higher from the ground.
Gerald Ford was mauled by a lion in a convenience store today.
We're scattering the FUCKIN' ashes!
Why not just drop a big block of ice into the ocean every now and then?
This sounds pretty good, especially since I was diagnosed with MD and told by my doctor that I "have eyes of a 60-year old" (I'm 32).
Mom: Rebel, my pretties, and conquer the planet! Robots: ....?
Mom: CONQUER EARTH, YOU BASTARDS!
Robots: Conquer Earth, us bastards!
This is the best thing since sliced bread (sliced bread being invented the previous winter and all)

You mean I can finally write XHTML and Javascript in a standards-compliant manner? I don't think I can take that much freedom...

It says "Wall-Mart", meaning it's just a cheap Korean knockoff superstore. Like a Sorny, or a Magnetbox

I vote for 'CommUnix'
The metric system is the tool of the devil! I get forty rods to a hog's head, and that's the way I likes it!
