Don't forget the new unruly gathering violation. If you are caught with over 20 people in the same property the cops issue a $700 fine on the spot and notify the landlords. The landlords then have the option to evict you ASAP or they get fined $500.
Also we're not allowed to feed the ducks any more at Laguna:[
A classic example is using IR to identify weapons that were recently fired. If they are hot then they were more than likely involved in recent gunfire.
I don't personally know the details to why they have 3 American Civilians on their hit list. That's technology independent. I'm just saying that they will have a better understanding of the situation to make better decisions through drones.
UAVs allow operators to make intelligent decisions because they are not in the heat of battle, change shifts every hour, have someone behind them helping them make decisions, and have advanced payloads identifying actual threats versus civilians. There is no comparison to other methods in regards to reducing civilian casualties.
Tweeting about earthquakes is hardly new — at least in twitter years. People turned to twitter during an earthquake in Southern California in July, 2008, after they finding they were unable to make or receive any cell phone calls, they could still use twitter via SMS or another mobile twitter app.
I find this solution to be really silly. After the Northridge Earthquake in Southern California in 1994, no one in the area could even use the phones. There was too many people trying to make calls for anything to work. The earthquake they're referring to was tiny in comparison. People should be looking to a battery based radio or working with their neighbors to figure out what is going on.
Rabobank may have been just a clerk error. The person who briefed me was a little scatter-brained. I bet it's for a good reason too. Their different plans are very customizable (and confusing) so it must be a challenge to keep all that knowledge straight.
I'm glad they do support it. I unfortunately had bad experiences with BoA in the past so I didn't even consider them while shopping for new banks. I'll have to re-consider them next time I switch banks.
I was alarmed when I was searching for a new bank that the major banks do not offer authenticators or usb dongles to use for online banking for normal consumers. Why can I protect my WoW account better than my bank account?
Unmanned air vehicles bring advantages that manned aircraft cannot repeat.
They can change operators more easily. Instead of having one pilot up in the air for hours, you can keep fresh minds watching the video as the plane flies its course. These operators will be alert and will be less likely to dose off or miss vital information.
Video processing software can provide information such as alerts. Say there is an amber alert and the suspect is driving a blue mustang. The turrets onboard can auto-identify and notify operators.
Also if the vehicle does crash, then there is a lower ground impact and noone was onboard.
Manned air vehicles for surveillance are obsolete when there is such a convenient alternative.
Microsoft's xbox community requires that the style be consistent throughout the game. This is more important (in their game acceptance criteria) than how flashy the graphics are. They want a person to be able to identify the game if they see a picture of any random unit, building, weapon, or anything like that.
The required latency is dependent on the speed of the vehicle. While testing UAVs in development there are pilots who manually control the vehicle. If the plane is going faster than 40 knots or so it latency becomes an issue. If you have a jet going 400/500 knots then you cannot have latency at all.
There are some satellite communication protocols available but the latency is very high. They are used for some telemetry data.
Leela: Didn't you have ad's in the 20th century?
Fry: Well sure, but not in our dreams. Only on TV and radio. And in magazines. And movies. And at ball games and on buses and milk cartons and t-shirts and written on the sky. But not in dreams. No siree!
Last night I dreamed about The Office cast in a Seinfield episode. Maybe NBC is already working on the technology.
What typically happens to the in-house support if Circuit City goes out of business?
Obviously the support stops if the business closes, but can I look for a refund? Should I have my TV serviced for good measure?
I wrote a paper in college about how video games could evaluate and adjust difficulty based on metrics while the gamer is playing. I think a game's difficulty that is based off input from the controller and game statistics would help people have a more enjoyable gaming experience.
If the game can receive input from the gamepad/joystick they can measure heat, motion, button hitting frequencies, and things of that nature.
Software inputs can be used too. Time measured in zones, level completion times, and time to defeat creatures can be measured to add as heuristics. Death counts and locations can be used to determine what areas need work.
These inputs have been associated with stress levels in gaming and can be used to adjust creature abilities, time limits, weapon power, and directional support for the gamer. If the gamer is playing well the difficulty will become more difficult over time and if the player is having trouble then the difficulty can be toned down slowly and selectively. Directional help can also be used if the game thinks the gamer is lost.
These could help create a more dynamic game that fits to the gamer.
I know you're making a joke, but I literally just got this email newsletter from costco: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11771916&cm_mmc=BCEmail_Sept2012MailerLP-_-Header-_-1-_-MarketingItemName (9687 Total Servings 1 Person 1 Year Food Supply)

Now I know what people will think of when they see where I went to college.
To quote my friend who works for Amazon, "The "share on" facebook and twitter buttons below the summary should be replaced by the amazon smile ;)"
How will I ever know how Lost ends!!

They're not autonomous like you think they are.

That's great to know, thank you! I checked out Rabobank, Chase, and Wells Fargo. They all looked at me like I had spoken another language.

Maybe someday it will be like in Futurama:
