That's swell, but where is the application that supports the MS Access format? That's the issue here. Thousands upon thousands of already-written Access databases would have to be rewritten in MySQL, which would be a tough sell to the bean counters. Open Office already can open Microsoft's Word, Excel, and PowerPoint formats so there's no loss of previous work there.
No Access support is still a MAJOR corporate show-stopper.
It's also very interesting that the reviewer above (D Bruce Curtis, CEO of American Interconnect) is different than the reviewer from Amazon.com ("Anton Chuvakin, Ph.D., GCIA, GCIH is a Senior Security Analyst with a major information security company. His areas of infosec expertise include intrusion detection, UNIX security, forensics, honeypots, etc. In his spare time, he maintains his security portal info-secure.org").
Of course, I've learned over time to not trust people who go by "first-initial middle name".
I've got an 1100 Athlon underclocked to 500 so that I can run it with a dinky heat sink and 40mm fan as a server. Since it just serves my home network, I didn't need the speed, and as it was not being used then why not? The only time it shows a bit of slowness is during boot-up, but as it's a Linux server then that's not much of an issue.
What's better is that the second link (as of this moment) is from KGOs website, and it reads "Consumer-Backed Anti-Spam Bill Passes". Now, if you follow the link (go against your normal/. instincts for just a moment, please) the headline says "Consumer-Backed Anti-Spam Bill Fails".
I think that I could argue quite successfully that the majority of unsolicited emails that I receive probably originated from a pig's ass as well, so I can see the connection.
Thank you, anonymous submitter, for linking to the printer-friendly version. While the Post might get peeved for the loss of ad revenue, reading the story like this is much easier on the eyes.
No kidding. If they had played that "Love Shack" song over large PA speakers prior to going into Iraq, we would have had massive surrenders without loss of life.
That's a fantastic idea, pb! I wish that there was a way to make your post somehow stand out above all the rest so that it would be noticed...*sigh* A point system would be REALLY cool. Smiley faces? Who knows!

That's a good point. For all of the bloat that Mozilla is accused of having, I am disheartened that they have left out the "Put yellow running dudes all over the fucking place" feature that Netscape has had for quite some time now. Does anyone know of a plugin that I can compile to be able to enjoy that functionality that I am missing?
Before you post stories to Slashdot and stirring up the masses, why don't you try to contact ATI customer support either through email ? That seems to be much easier, and much more productive, than taking up front page space.
At this point, the only technology that they have proven to have is the ability to send emails to Microsoft. And the ability to make demands that Dr. Evil would laugh at.

7. SCO will claim to have put the ink in the pen, and sue everyone who uses said pen.
You'd think that with all of the pork that is usually attached to legislation that taking care of Spam wouldn't be such a stretch.

More info on this topic can be seen here.
In other news, it has been determined that not all of the editors at Slashdot post dupes.

Make up your mind. You can either have the good stuff or Metallica. Not both in the same product.
If only you were as anal about spelling.
"The Judge shall be Rob "CmdrTaco" Malda.
Why do I feel like the first place entry will be merely a repost of the second place entry, only with misspellings?
"While this technology is theoretically interesting, it won't save the victims of the 9/11 FTC disaster."
Oh great, first the FBI and CIA were involved in 9/11, but now the Federal Trade Commission?

I don't understand. Are you expecting that the book reviewers be held to a higher standard than the editors of /.?

"Love Shack Ba-a-byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
"AAAAAAIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
YOUR confused? Considering the ongoing hatred of the MPAA, I don't know if I should see this movie or not.
Wait until they get to the part where all of those retired folks in Palm Beach county are listening to Metallica.

Give Penthouse Letters a try.
Face it, dude. The solar system is dead.

They should have put the servers in the women's restroom. Might as well, as they wouldn't get used otherwise.
The fallibility of biometric systems has been widely known since a scientific expose was released on the topic no less than five years ago.
