    Landlines work in a lot of cases where the power's down, at least in the States. Not sure about UK.

    And the voltage on a land line can be useful for recharging USB devices in no power situations....

    The US government has already proven and the courts agreed that a finger print can be compelled. I'd like to use a combination of facial recognition, a finger print and a password, and maybe even a physical device. A voice recognition option would be an effective addition as well. Any less and you might as well just not use any security at all.

    Why not add a duress password/phrase/keystroke/specific fingerprint that induces a deep wipe pf the device.

    I rented the VHS tape of it. Put it in the VCR, it wouldn't play. I tried about 3 other copies (from Blockbuster) and none of them would play. Finally found out there was a new Macrovision (copy protection) version on the tape that was "Incompatible" with my 1 year old VCR.

    I find most of my legal movie and television needs can be met using archive.org and an antenna, and Netflix.

  12. I agree.... 3rd party theme's would be awesome on Netflix also maybe 3rd party category tools/filters so you could install "Action Movie Extreme!!!" as a category and "Happy Halloween Super Slasher Flicks!!!"

    The theme thing would be nice if I could just get a simple hack to disable that one "feature", and it's not about data usage for me. Although I have heard people complaining that it chews up data unnecessarily, so if your on a phone or your ISP has data caps it can cost money.

    Give people a little of what they want and at a decent price is the best way to prevent piracy. Also listening to your customers is business 101 :(

    I suspect that it doesn't matter how much SpaceX complains, it's going to be very difficult beating a Beltway pro like Northrop-Grumman in who gets the ultimate blame in Washington.

    If I could bet on things, Northrop-Grumman would get another $3.5B to replicate Zuma and SpaceX will have to undergo an extensive Air Force review of the Falcon 9, the fairing, their launch procedures and aspects of their design.

    I'm sure someone along the way had some kind of insurance on this. The 3.5 Billion was for R&D and construction. It probably wouldn't cost that much to construct another one, it's only construction costs...

    Nah. There are lots of famous people who don't post nudes who have tons of followers. Obama, for example, has 102 million followers and I'm quite sure he's never posted nudes.

    You have to wonder how many of those followers are democratic party bots?

    There are famous people on twitter, some (maybe most) of them aren't the actual people, just their PR teams, or interns...

    These sites have algorithms that benefit higher users. So a Bot will just post stuff, and perhaps get the usage that benefits them.

    I never joined twitter, but I'm pretty sure there are bots with more followers than anyone who isn't posting nudes or bikini pics.

    If "Charm" is being used as a euphemism for donations, they'll care all right.

    I picture his appearance,

    MZ walks in to testify, two huge bodyguards lugging multiple cases behind them.

    As he is sworn in, MZ opens the cases and throws millions of dollars into the air, as congress critters scurry on their hands and knees, scooping up money and tucking it into their clothes, and interns pockets.

    MZ does a mike drop and walk out, testimony ended.
