    Unless the advertiser is smart, in which case they will realise that they're paying a large amount of money with no increase in sales. Then they will stop advertising on slashdot, and slashdot will lose money in the long run.

    they use some sort of magnetized strip

    It's an RFID thing, and swiping it over a big electromagnet kills it.

    I used to work with this old lady who never carried any cash besides coins because she swore that the government could track you with satillites, due to the embedded security thread that says "USA 20 02 ASU" etc.

    You obviously haven't been watching SG1 for very long... Daniel was "dead" for a whole season, they've killed everyone on the team at least once before.

    The commercials they were showing made it look like Jack had been killed... but then you saw a shot from a funeral at the SGC and the full team was standing there. He didn't say anything you didn't see in the commercial.

    Just FYI, that's probably not a radio receiver, it's a psuedorandom number generator that picks a number based on a "seed" and the number of minutes that have elapsed since some arbitrary time.

    The server can predict what numbers will be displayed on the fob and that's used as part of your password. Very cool system.

    That virus and MyDoom have nothing in common besides a substring of characters. "Doom" is a common english word. Computer viruses do not "evolve."

    Someone wrote the Doom2 virus, and someone else wrote the MyDoom.A virus. Someone else entirely modified the MyDoom.A virus to create the MyDoom.B virus. There is no way to "find algorithems to track this evolution" because it does not exist.

    I just bought a virtualboy a few days ago, actually. Mario Tennis is pretty good and Red Alarm is surprisingly fun. As for modding it, I definitly intend to try it once I'm tired of the games I have.
