  3. Damn Slashdot Hippies on H1B Tech Visa Workers Being Deported From U.S. · · Score: 1

This is just another example of the "government bad! open source good!" biased crap that is spewed from the Slashdot community.
As has already been said by many posters on here, they (immigrants) knew the visa was only temporary and lasts 6 years.

Its time for you hippies on Slashdot to grow up and realize that these people were bound to a contract (yes the visa) that they must honor.

So go smoke another one Hemos.

  4. Anthem? on A Letter from 2020 · · Score: 1

To me this "letter" sounds very similar to the book "Anthem" by Ayn Rand. (without all the "we" and "they").

I think it might be the style of writing and the blissfully oppressed atmosphere.

A trade organization or a full fledged union. Get a union of musicians going on strike and there wouldn't be very many new albums coming out for the record industries.

If they form a union better start talking about contract renegotiations too, some of those contracts are such crap and I don't know why anyone signs (I guess its the easiest way to get the music "out there") any of these restrictive contracts with the record companies.

Oh well thats just my little rant.

Oh, but they'll have little "challenges" like who can stay in a vaccuum without a spacesuit for the longest and who can climb the scaffolding of the launch tower to collect the most medallions with their number on it. Afterwards they'll preceed to mission control with their spacesuit helmets and vote someone off the training and they'll be forced to leave the training facilities only to stay in the five star hotel they are staying in anyways for the filming of the show.
