I'm totally a fan for border patrols... however there should be a shift in their duties. Instead of keeping canadians and mexicans out, they should focus on keeping americans in.
And when you get to where Iw as last summer this is what'll happen: 15% body fat dropped significantly in 2 months. That's when the 6pack started showing. Once you get your bodyfat down to around 15% the gain seem disproportionately huge. Keep it up!
Here's a good trick. Prepare your meal before you exercise. Then exercise. Then eat your meal.
This will allow you to prepare a normal amount of food (instead of piles when you're "fucking hungry"). Then you exercise and kick up your metabolism which will help you use the calories more efficiently when you eat the meal.
Just don't cheat and add a snack to the meal after exercising because you think its not enough. Your brain takes 20 minutes to catch up to your stomach so just wait if you're still hungry after the meal, and then drink a glass of water.
Choices my friend, choices. $39 over the last 3 years is a pretty decent deal to me. Plus being poor does suck - hence why I don't own a car.
You're right that windows is waaaay easier than linux, but for me an OS that I have to wipe clean every 3-6 months due to getting bogged down isn't really useful.
On the server side of things, I do still run windows for that one, but on the personal computing side... osx just rocks.
and about the iphone... I'm not sure why your friend was forced to upgrade but the interoperability of the 1st gen iphone and all flavors of osx is pretty much flawless. Same with the new ones. I'm lucky enough to have avoided any legal drawbacks by buying my contract free in Hong Kong but you're right that most people don't have that opportunity. With the iphone its too bad that contracts are detracting from how well it integrates into the mac ecosystem.
No kidding, this Lod dude is a dipshit. I have apple product because so far my iphone hasn't cost me a penny to upgrade and my last major OSX upgrade cost $39. Next time Windows does a major upgrade for $39 I'll eat my apple (and as soon as it works flawlessly with my other accessories).
I buy apple because its easy to use and maintain. My time is worth far more than a bunch of windows and linux distro headaches.
Wow, they're spendy.
Not considering reduced interest a quick calculation showed me 25k in interest per year at 8.5%
paying off their loans over 15 years is 20k per year. so in total (remember quick calculation, not amortized) is 45k
so they still have 75k per year to play with and they can't afford a home? Wow.
I'm happy to hear your family got the care they needed. I'm in the reverse situation where I get whatever I need (luckily I'm healty) but my parents who live in the US have to pay premiums of 2000 USD per month just to get basic coverage because they're over 60, dad has a history of heart conditions and mom's diabetic. And they're self-employed which for some retarded reason makes things more expensive. My suggestion to them is to come back to Europe as soon as shit hits the fan with their health.
As for the student loan issue: your wife's JD/MBA would have cost a ton in the UK too. I just finished my MBA in Spain and spent a good amount of my time at LBS too. Tuitions for those schools are through the roof just as much as the US. However, I do get a great deal on my loans - they're tied to the EURIBOR which right now means my interest rate is under 3%. What makes this possible is that my school cosigned my loan. What US educational institutions should be doing is standing up for their students and do the same - have some faith in the people they accept and have some faith in the education they give them.
Some people believe in Science, others in noodles. We tolerate and accept all views afterall the FSM manipulates all science when people aren't looking.
I would suggest a few classics, a few new ones, all relatively short and interesting. Students of that age don't have much attention span as a rule and usually (there is the rare gem) don't care to do deep analysis as I've come to expect nearing my 30s. With a wide range of potential students...
I'd suggest a few other books that are thought provoking (not necessarily exciting page turners) Such as:
Old stuff:
A few short stories from Asimov's "Robot Dreams"
HG Wells "Time Machine"
Bradbury's "Fareinheit 451"
L'Engle's "A Wrinkle in Time"
New stuff:
Gaiman's "American Gods"
Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
Salvatore's "Sojourn" (let's them discuss fantasy formula writing and how to still make it good)
But those are just off the top of my head... Every year there's a compendium of best scifi and fantasy short stories written. Get it and flip through it. Always a few good ones in there.
Firefly appealed to a smaller audience than Survivor. Unfortunately in your free-market economy, making the most money is what matters... and that means pandering to the lowest common denominator. Same works for video games.
That depends entirely on the hedge-fund. Many of them have agreement with existing investment banks to execute the trades for them in trade for top-tier information and access to analysts. If they just auction off their trade, they lose this major advantage. So the hedge-funds that do this are not fundamental research driven but are more likely to do technical analysis by algorithms.
Suck my balls.
and by my I mean the royal "my". Our collective scrotum should be sucked by this congressman.

sleep-eating is a serious problem. don't mock it.

All I gotta say is: keep it up. Well done.
Tubby still probably snacked a secret ho-ho at night while fat, alone, depressed and all around miserable in their tiny little apartment.

mmm, 419. what happens after is 420.

Geez, didn't you read the blurb before the movies? "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away"
;)
Could very well be Star Wars has the prior art

If not its not a kindle killer. Remember folks, there is the REST OF THE WORLD

And the number of people living in poverty in Scandinavia is greater than the entire population of Lichtenstein!
And now the US is like a second-rate employer. You go there, train up, and move on.
All hail his noodly appendage.
Easy: big button labeled "start"
I wonder if she held the cursor hovered over the poke link and said "I'm not touching youuuuuuu, I'm not touching youuuuuuuu!"
Because we all know that Bush really had his own set of balls... *sarcasm*

Don't blame the belgians. After all its not their fault they share a border with the Dutch
