Sure, it was better than the last half dozen. It still wasn't the X-files I remember. They didn't even leave you hanging. The writers should have kept smoking whatever it was when the series started, cause it was working. Oh well, time to see what else is on. There is a new program that I found interesting called CSI, I will have to see how that one turns out.
I feel your pain. I have friends that are just like that. I don't know what the hell it is. But like you said, it doesn;t dry off. It just kind of stays there untill you do something. Needless to say, those I know who leave slime trails don't get to use my toys.
You proved to be quite ill informed with your post. The moderation up to 3 just shows that many moderators seem to be pretty clueless as well.
Um, in no way does what you have written in any way conclude that the parent poster is ill informed. Not one of your points links to anything that the parent poster has listed out. Nothing. I'm at quite a loss. Or is it just that you don't agree with the poster and have no real rational reason as to why 'many moderators seem to be pretty clueless'. So instead of thinking it out you just threw up some relative but non-linking information as said everyone else is just 'clueless'.
At least in the tiniest of form in my house. I wired two older PII 400mhz boxes up and loaded in some voice recognition software, a text to speech program, and various other programs that control stuff that I have hooked up to the machines. Currently I have a few lights, and cable TV running through it. I can get the machines to turn lights on and off, Turn the TV on and off, change channels, record programs, play back programs, I can also get limited control over the computers themself. But the voice interface is really clunky for doing serious work
Some day, in a museum some place, the voyager 1 probe will sit on display. (The actual one that is out there now). At some point we will have the capability to go out and actually retrieve the probe. Assuming something doesn't hit the probe and we have some means of locating it I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
but parking an unlocked crime does not create any new crimes. No one forced anyone to steal the car. They did it anyways. It would be like saying that me putting up a mailbox in my yard caused someone to come by an bash it in with a baseball bat.
I always new something was screwed up on the west coast. Bunch of yahoo's (not all, but a lot seem to find their way to important positions). I'm reminded of just how strange california is everytime I pick up a package. 'Contains _stuff_ known to the state of California to cause cancer'. Oh yes, they know what's best. Or their 'special' automotive restrictions that haven't done crap for their smog ridden cities.
so... we start a transition now. then in 50 years when everything has moved over to hydrogen we'll be in a hyrdogen dependence. We'll be dependent on hydrogen producing nations. No different that it is now with oil. we'll just be changing what we are being dependent on.
Maybe we should be looking at creating hydrogen, not just digging it up - just means more mines, more waste and undoubtedly more exploitation of poor people and economies who will undoubtedly be the people that the oil companies exploit when they switch from digging for oil to digging for hydrogen.
Please read what you just wrote. Geeze. Oh yes, let create hydrogen. Of course without any of the nasty side effects. You have to be kidding me.
but is there any way of measuring how many people died (or died earlier) because they inhaled to many byproducts of coal plants. It is hard to measure but may be a signifigant factor in peoples health at older ages.
I would guess that a solid state design would be far more durable as well. I know I've abused other SSD chips and had them take the abuse. Spinning HD's are really easy to damage. One signifigant jostles and you can crash the head.
What I'm amazed at is just how big of a jump it really is. Even in terms of supercomputing.
A snocat that floats, big whoop. Here the snowland there are zillions of them running around grooming trails for skiers and snowmobiliers. Other than some add ons it seems pretty OEM to me.
One of the best ways to get a headache is standard office setup: overhead flourescents oscillating at a different, subliminally perceived, refresh than the monitor's subliminally perceived refresh. And at a different color temperature. At first, you don't notice, but your brain is going "WTF!?! Are you TRYING to hurt me?!?!"
That is a pet peeve of mine. All it takes is one computer monitor going in a room lit by flourescents and everything turns into a disco. People think I'm nuts when I say that I can see the lights flickering (obviously I can't, The difference in rates between the two make it viewable.) has never given me a brain ache yet though. I've become too use to it.
You mean, I could come outside of my house. To be able to wander about and still retain the same technical savvy. I'm.. Uh.. I don't know if I can handle it.
When I used to use a tower machine for LAN gaming the tower wasn't the part that I dreaded carrying in. It was the 17 inch monitor that had to go along with me. Since then, I've swapped everything for a nice compact unit that weighs about 7 pounds and fits under my arm, everything included.
Quickly browsing through the messages you can easily see two different two different classes of people. Those with children and those without. The one side needs to seriously think about growing up and facing reality. Why is it that there is a different missing kid on the side of the milk carton every day? Because that is how many kids disapear. You can cry all you want about how it will ruin some kids life because his/her parents will always know where they are. Last time I checked, that's what parents were suppose to do. I can't even begin to count the number of times having nosey parents kept me from doing something stupid or going someplace I shouldn't. As for little kids, they are going to do it anyways, so at least now you have to option to locate them if a sweep through the park doesn't find them.
Grow up slashdotters, a lot of you sound like you should be wearing one of these right now.

They've been tested in vacuums and they work. They've also been tested in faraday cages as well. And they still work.
Just curious, don't have any links, but did this occur during the period of the year where the southern pole has it most exposure to sunlight. I think that is occurring right now.
If so, Sunlight causes ice to melt and sublimate which would cause deterioration. So the sun mau have a hige impact on this area that may have been ignored or _cleverly forgotten_ to make a point.
The file system that comes with the latest releases of Netware allows you to use that extra space. The file system varies the size of the cluster (or block, I forget what it is) to tailer the filesystem to the data. This way if you have a 5k file on 4k filesystem you may only use 6k instead of 8k because the file system gives the file a 4k and a 2k area to store the file.
Why hide the data when you can use that area and reclaim space. On a big drive it can add up pretty quickly. But still is no massive sum.

That seems to be pretty clueless to me.
It won't float in the air because it is still heavier that air. It's density is close to that of air, but isn't quite the same.

Gotta love the Texans!
but 'woody'll' is not even remotely proper. You can't make it into a contraction. 'woddy will' would be the correct way to say it.

End Rant
go nuclear. HIGH energy density AND really awesome explosions. Sounds like you really CAN have your cake and eat it too...

soo... what games do you have for your GBA?
games? oh, I never got into the whole gaming thing.
so what are you doing with a GBA?
oh, just hosting a website or two. you know, in my spare time.
You mean, I could come outside of my house. To be able to wander about and still retain the same technical savvy. I'm.. Uh.. I don't know if I can handle it.
that was by far the dumest joke I have ever heard
