Yes...the perks of the higher ranked institutions are usually things like job placement and networking. For example, in looking at law schools I have a local public law school which is cheap and has the highest percentage of bar passing graduates of public schools in my state, or the local top 50 private school which has a 98.5% job placement rate with salary means and medians well above ABA norms.

Both have their pluses. Public school is larger and has technically more areas to focus on and more learning tracks, but the private school *may* have higher quality professors and such. The main differences are job placement, avg salaries and cost. One is 10K, the other is 30K. Go figure.

  9. Re:disappointment on Kerry Concedes Election To Bush · · Score: 1

Ummm..as a younger person who voted, I must say that Kerry did not court the young crowd, nor provide any reasons to really support him. The young voters were courted mostly by the media and celebrities to vote. Kerry may have had the support of young people, but it was due to Bush's failures as a president, not due to anything Kerry really stands for- other than younger people being traditionally more liberal anyways.

    Fuck that.

Even more clear is the fact that HURD still is useless. If you want to claim that Linus' achievements are miniscule compared to RMS and GNU then a quaility equivalent os just have been easily put out by gnu.
