  1. Re:As my mummy always said... on Wal-Mart Squeezing Record Labels to Cut CD Prices · · Score: 1

Their methods are SOMETIMES dubious? Are you on crack? Look past the low prices and come back to reality. Walmart is the #1 importer of chinese goods. Walmart has PUT SUPPLIERS OUT OF BUSINESS. How do you get around that fact? They push lower, lower, lower until the business folds and then they find a new supplier.

Your argument is that they have low prices and thats what people want. No shit. And if I stole merchandise I could sell it cheaply, that doesn't make it right. Walmart beats it's suppliers into submission. It's the same damn thing.

Corporations are out of control. If you actually think that a company like Walmart is beneficial to anybody you are fool. The cost savings on individual items is wiped out by the damage they do to the US and it's economy. Where do the suppliers employees get their money to spend at Walmart when they get pushed out of business?

Just because they can, doesn't mean they should. At one point Corporations didn't have the rights of people. Now they are the number one thing in this country. The people do not matter anymore.

You see...they are pissed that their is no insurance against Paypal doing whatever the hell they want...including stealing and freezing peoples accounts while they do keep your actual money in THEIR accounts at a real bank.

This is like someone having your car and you dont know if they will give it back to you when you ask but hey, atleast they keep it in a locked garage.

Actually a vast majority of classical composers where just choral/orchestra directors and even music school teachers. This is no different than working a regular, related job and doing what you love in your spare time.

Music won't go away. I'm not afraid. I make music, albeit shitty, and never get paid a dime....The whole 0 +0 =0 scare tactic is pathetic. Who gives a shit if the RIAA and its labels and so-called "artists" go away. Thats like saying there are no good movies except those made by the major major studios. Somebody better tell CANNES.

  7. Yes...a backpack is the best on Advice On Notebook Backpacks? · · Score: 1

I got one, an "Icon" brand one from CC awhile ago. Since sold the laptop, kept the bag and use it daily for school.

The backpadding supports work well when carrying textbooks for 4 classes.....

As someone else mentioned...carrying a backpack is a good way to prevent theft, as its less liable just to be "set down" for a second and less visible as a bag containing a laptop.

    you are beating a strawman

    it is not like shoplifting
it is not like most crimes
its an intangible "technical" violation of the law
    it is not theft
it is not a regular crime
its just like how a lot of people think its fucked up that theres people getting prison time for smoking weed
people aren't stupid...they know a bad law...but its not the people that run this country anymore

Case in point? This is election. Bush or Kerry? Whats the difference? There is none.

Your comparisons are moot. Whether or not it is technicall criminal doesn't matter. Id venture to guess that the majority of people see that it is unlike stealing a real piece of property. People understand real crimes...they have a harder grasp of these fake technical crimes.. Especially when the whole intent of the laws in the first place was to BENEFIT the PEOPLE by allowing artists to survive.
