"By PanteraSoft" it said on that page, and on www.panterasoft.com they seem to have a newer version of what I'll assume is the same program: "HDD Health v2.0"
...Sorenson doesn't have to release source, they just have to give the xanim coder permission to write a closed source implementation, but they're refusing to even do that.
And if you want to learn to code in C++ or Java, you should definitely check out the "Thinking in" series at www.BruceEckel.com. I have bought both Thinking in C++ and Thinking in Java after first having browsed through the PDFs.
I believe the readme said that they had fixed that problem. It's been about a month since I tested the tools though, so I won't swear that that's correct.:)
Only the Sith deal in absolutes!
It's NOT Java 5.0, that would actually make sense.
:P
If you read the press release linked from the blog post, it's "Java 2 5.0".
I wonder if 1.6 will then be "Java 2 5.0 1.6", like 1.3/1.4 was "Java 2 1.3/1.4"...
Congratulations, you've reinvented the wheel. :)
Screw RV, I've got the episode in MPEG, if you're interested. :)
> why doesn't Slashdot reproduce the "pound" symbol, even when I use an HTML entity for it?

It's CmdrTaco, of course. :)
Doesn't work in Opera 7 either.
Join the mailing list and you'll get an e-mail when there's a new version out.
I remember Datsuns in Finland too in the early 80s...
Ahem. :)

Well, Tarkin is a next generation, experimental codec. When it will be ready is anyone's guess... Theora should be out next year.
The guys over at Xiph.org have posted a reply, in the form of a highly sarcastic open letter to Thompson. :)
Umm... I'd like to see you fit the number 365 into a byte. ;)
Instead of Alt-Shift-Click, hold down the right mouse button over the link and move the mouse downwards. Gestures rule. :)
6.0 has been out for ages, and 6.01 is the current version.

More important than the new features to me is that Opera 6.0beta1 is MUCH more stable than 5.12 was. 6.0 final is gonna rock... :)
