Wait, that's what GP was saying? I thought he was merely thanking Apple for protecting him from possibly breaking his phone and had nothing at all to do with the network.
Especially since he only mentioned the phone and not the network.
Some people would consider the lack of MMS and the ability to record video to be a feature.
No, I do not have an iPhone. I'm still using a 6 year old Sony-Erickson. And I'm not saying people who use their phones for more than just making phone calls are stupid, just that calling a phone crippled because it can't do MMS or record video is a matter of opinion.
ZOMG! You're absolutely right! Basic group organizational structures and competitions among like-minded groups mimic the gang structure! Quick, we must make illegal the act of people forming together in groups!
But isn't the ARES-I the smallest of the ARES series, and it matches the Delta-IV max load.
Exactly. It's a pointless rocket. Billions of dollars have been spent developing a rocket that duplicates the capabilities of an existing rocket.
I don't know much about rocket development, but isn't that a bit like saying "why'd Western Digital spend billions developing a 1TB HDD when they've already got 1TB HDDs" when in reality the new 1TB HDD is just a single-platter version of their brand new 2TB HDD?
Better that than to sign away the movie rights to Disney for free after an arbitrary length of time, which would in effect give them control of the work.
Um, no? While Disney could create a movie based on your story without needing to pay royalties to you, so could anyone else.
Like I said, I'm sure there are loopholes, and tried to choose a ridiculous enough example to show that such a "guarantee" probably isn't worth the paper it's written on.
I think most of these places have guarantees that if they did your taxes wrong, they (not you) pay the price.
But I also imagine there are loopholes like "you didn't tell us about that 50 tablet bottle of ibprofen you bought last September? It's your fault your taxes are wrong and you're footing the bill".
Claim that you were robbed and that that was the only thing stolen? Heck, I can certainly imagine a plausible scenario for that.
Someone who had previously sold something to you notices that you bought this piece of "art". They show up at your house with the intent of stealing just that object.
I seem to recall an article a while back which said that Microsoft would rather the Chinese pirate Windows than switch to Linux. Unfortunately, my google-fu is weak today.
I don't, or more accurately, am disallowed to. Why? Because I'm an Independent, and Maryland only lets the Repubs vote for other Repubs and Demos vote for other Demos in the primaries.
Reminds me of some experiences with TigerDirect. I'd thought I'd forgotten my password, so I'd gone through the password reset process or whatever they had (it's been a few years). They sent me my password via email in plain text, and it was the exact same password I'd been trying. I tried it again anyway, and it still didn't work. I then tried explaining to them that that password did not work, but they refused to believe me and just continually sent me the same password, in plain text, over email, over and over again until I just gave up.
Oh I don't doubt that there are some goods that, were it to leak that a new iteration were on its way within a year, sales of the current iteration would plummet. It just appears to me that, despite my personal preference to wait for the next DS iteration, Nintendo is not and has not suffered a serious decline in sales of the current DS iteration each time a new DS iteration is announced.
Obviously that doesn't mean that the Wii would be safe, but it's the only thing we have to compare when it comes to Nintendo.
Well, I guess sales of the GBA, SP w/ frontlight, and SP w/ backlight might also be something to look at.
Considering the ease with which you can send information without having it physically stored on the laptop, any search that goes beyond determining that the device is, in fact, just a laptop is just a waste of taxpayer money.
Until the GM plant is different enough from the non-GM plant such that cross-fertilization is impossible, terminator genes are inherently bad.
Remember, corn grows as such:
1) Plant 2 corn kernels, one with a terminator gene and one without. The terminator gene is _not_ intended to keep this kernel from growing and producing seeds. If it were, there would be nothing to eat on the resulting plant.
2) Fertilize each corn plant with the other. IANABotanist, but I hear that corn plants cannot self-fertilize. Even if they can, the likely-hood that _no_ pollen from the terminator crop would get on the non-terminator crop is probably very small.
3) Ears of corn grow on each. Because of the terminator gene on the GM corn, neither plant has produced viable seeds for planting (though they can still be eaten).
Obviously it's going to be fields of plants instead of just two, but if your neighbor is using seeds with a terminator gene and you're not, you're now fucked come next season.
Watching the trailer, I seem to recall it mentioning Disney. Not some company that happens to be owned by Disney, but Disney. With the Disney name directly plastered to the movie*, I do not have high hopes.
*That's not to say that Disney makes poor films, just that Disney has an image to protect for being "family friendly".

Read the rest of the comment. It seems to imply a society-at-large obsession with women's (but not men's for some odd reason) chests.
At least that's how I read it.

Because all the patch would do would be to decrypt the game files?
Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up.

Not that I disagree with you, but only the DS and DS Lite can play GBA games. If OP has a DSi, they're SOL.
As long as you keep it encrypted with a sufficiently strong key, is it really any different from using "one-and-only strong password for many sites"?
everyone votes in primaries

I don't play WoW, but does LUA even allow you to script the character saying things?
What makes you think the US government wouldn't extend the block to your little operation?

But there is no hard evidence that the tablet exists. Therefore, how would anyone at Gawker know if they are asking people to break an NDA?

As far as I am aware, sales of the DS, DS Lite, and DSi did not plummet when the DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL were announced (respectively).
Though I will admit that when I personally heard about the DSi XL I decided to skip the DSi.
Someone over at Tynt got mod points?

I just hope they don't dumb Sands of Time down.
