Mod parent up! Apple may have money to throw at this issue, but they do NOT have the time. They might have if they have developed this for a few more years in secret, but now that it's out, they're boned.
I thought the whole No Google Maps on iOS was a plan, didn't they use their app for 5 minutes, and realize the HUGE outcry when they removed it?
Further, due to the massive amounts of money (which apple has in spades) and time (which apple doesn't have at this point) what can they hope to do to fix it? And why didn't they pull the plug before it got to release state?
Somebody really dropped the ball, or lied out of their ass during the status meetings. I'm wondering when the firings will start.
Which was what exactly?!?!?!? the 1 million dollar bail is higher than a normal murder charge bail. While making comments like this might be illegal, or in poor taste, the response seems a bit over the top.
Relax, it's the old "The focus group made me do it defense", probably to be followed with "I was just doing my job", and then finally "I didn't know OKAY?!!?!!?!?! I DIDN'T KNOW!!!!"
Sorry, but I've been on unemployment from time to time while working my ass off to find a new job. I have yet to see an unemployment check that came within a 1/4 of what most of the people reading Slashdot get paid. That also goes for most "middle" class jobs. You get laid-off from Wendy's then you might sit around on your ass, otherwise, you're going to be eating into your savings and trying like heck to find your next job before you lose the house/car/wife.
Actually the argument has been going on since the beginning of the printing press, if not earlier. In the 1900s the argument was all about the copyright the song writer held over his sheet music, which was easily copied and re-printed by rival companies, depriving the artist of royalties. I suspect that there might have been arguments between various bards as they plied their trade over people overhearing and repeating their songs, who knows?
It's nice to see somebody standing up to Monsanto. Never has one company been so close to totally controlling the food supply for the entire planet. Their abusive practices with farmers both home and abroad have been well documented, and yet our elected leaders turn a blind eye.
Free as in beer is often the least of the resources invested. My time and energy are also limited, I'd like to invest them wisely, and not into something that will disappear, leaving me with nothing.
There was also the story in the Illustrated Man about the crewmen of a crashed space ship who are attempting to endure the constant rainfall, looking for a "Sun Station", where they can finally get warm and dry.
I think you need to read that a little closer. It says bank accountS as in plural. Surprisingly a guy who was attempting to defraud the IRS from the inside was smart enough to open more than one account.
Make sure the questions are unique, change them between each exam, and carefully watch from the back of the room. You could also ask for a log of all the traffic through the WiFi point, and search for know chat domains.
There's a difference in the markets. Cars are a tool, and essentially one tool is like any other. So it's to their benefit to provide you with a place to dispose of your unwanted (but still useful) car.
Games are very different (or there would be lawsuits:) ), you can use multiple games at the same time, and you don't need one to function in society.
A better analogy would be the car makers maintaining the used motorcycle, and scooter markets.
Somehow I think this very fitting considering (1) this is China we're talking about and (2) anyone (including the US) who plays around weather is virtually certain to cause an adverse effect somewhere else. So please DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE WEATHER!!.
From the article it seems they have already caused adverse effects, and yet they persist.
With a gallbladder problem you only WISH you could die, you never actually do so. Hence the waiting list. And yes I had a number of attacks before I had mine removed last year.
Cancelling bad mod, please ignore.

I think they learned after Waco and Ruby Ridge that burning people out (Waco), and shooting people (Ruby Ridge) gives them a black eye.

In this case the article is talking about MS CERTIFICATES, so having access to the source code is irrelevant.

Obviously this is all about the transition of Venus across the sun. Just like the comet took Mark Twain, Venus has claimed Bradbury!
I think I'm beginning to understand why Oracle has chosen to sue, rather than innovate, they're idiots and lazy to boot! :)
Don't drink much bourbon do you? :)

You do realize that you can't actually boil a frog that way, right? I mean its been shown that they jump out. http://www.snopes.com/critters/wild/frogboil.asp
It's also the non-DRM version, which means that it won't help netflix a bit!

Maybe that's the point. Not sure how illegal it is for the blue team to call at 6 am claiming to be the red team, or vis versa.
Ditto, had the same reaction.
