Not because there isn't an audience, but because the audience is too diverse. From the $4000 liquid cooled (or even oil cooled) systems to the Pentium IVs, it's hard to find settings that work across the board, or scale well.
Console games all play on machines with roughly the same processing power. That makes things a lot easier.
Eventually enough people are going to get fed up and just take their entertainment money elsewhere. How long until the industry actually will have to respond to their crap policies due to negative growth?
They'll be waiting for quite a while, because they have nowhere to go, except to the indies. And the industry isn't worried about losing the 1% knowledgeable customers as long as it can keep the other 99%.
I mean, where else would they go? Music (RIAA)? Movies (MPAA)? TV (Networks)? Any and all mainstream entertainment is controlled by a cabal.
Exactly. When NFL quarterbacks get millions and top-of-the-line math teachers get a few tens of thousands, guess which way a physically fit but also smart student would go.
Well, at the current rate, with technological advances keep more people alive that wouldn't have otherwise survived (that's a good thing, except in the case of Paris Hilton and her gal pals), genes will not matter as much. Our evolution will certainly slow, and maybe even stop.
But if anything, mutations should be increasing with all the potential nuclear devices. That should keep the evolution going.
Pretty much everything gets boring when over-analyzed, right? Besides maybe politics or the stock market. Because no individual will ever figure either of the two out.
Considering that a flight aboard VG costs $200,000 for a two-hour flight, $1 million doesn't seem too bad. Though how much you could actually do and perform in two hours is debatable. And what if one or more of the actors gets sick?
I think the PR side effects would cost more than what they make in profit.
That's out of 300 million Americans. So just a little more than a dime a year. Nothing even close to the $700 billion bailout in terms of scale, and for completely different reasons.
If we are truly interested in fixing the budget, it won't be the pork barrel, though that amounts to some of the change. It's going to be major- Social Security/Medicare reform. Those two alone will soon cost the US government over half of its annual budget.
And ultimately in today's world, your conviction is heavily determined by the public's or more correctly the media's opinion of your guilt.

Fuzzy math? 70/30 = 90% of the time?

Why? They're not contractually obliged to not download, unlike you.

Why was this modded down? You're paying them for the game... and also getting the SecuROM.
"Researchers found that the bedrooms and offices of liberals tend to be ... full of books about ... feminism."
Really now? I totally would have expected the conservatives to be into feminism.
People tend to make decisions based on emotion and then justify these decisions by facts.
"Slashdotted"? What's next... "story"? Oh wait...

I was going to buy a VAIO laptop, but decided not to because of Sony's incident with its rootkit, SecuROM, and this too.
By much the same logic, individuals and small business may postpone their purchases...
... and torrent instead? (At least the individuals)
So that gives whole new meaning to "free." Free as in beer, free as in speech, and free as in to f*ck.
... launch it into space? We need to replace the Hubble.

for John McCain to win DC's electoral votes, considering that at least 70% of DC is going to vote for all Democrats this November...

Whatever happened to reformatting?

I suspect the demand for space tourism is rather low at the current price. Not everyone would drop $20 million on a flight even if they had the money.
