In California there's quite a few lights where there isn't a protected green left turn signal. If you don't get into the intersection before yellow and wait until oncoming traffic finally dies down (almost red) then finally take your turn on red, you will be stuck sitting at the intersection until you die. This is one state where when they say take a left - the emphasis is on "take" because no one will give it to you. My wife use to drive like you waiting behind the safety of the cross walk before being absolutely sure she would make the light and the left turn. 2 weeks in L.A. has made a better more aggressive driver out of her.
There's also people called Business Analyst and the good ones will tell you where you can save and make money. This role pays out anywhere from 40-150+k US. I've worked with one outside of my department and it's amazing to see small little changes he promotes rack up millions of dollars over 5-10 years. Saying he is worth his weight in gold is an understatement.
I would have thought private companies and municipalities would have already implemented protocols prohibiting texting while driving.
Federal government sets the minimum standards for driving with CDLs. The states can be more restrictive if they wish. This has been the case since 1986. Also I know more people who are more likely to blow off a rule made by a company but would not risk breaking the law.
Monsanto is a culprit but the issue much larger than just this one company. We need to help governments pull their collective heads out of their collective you know whats.
This link sums up a lot of the impacts that can be seen and forecast due to various Countries' Seed Acts. http://www.zcommunications.org/the-indian-seed-act-and-patent-act-by-vandana2-shiva
This is complete conjecture on my part but maybe he is trying to make a point that instead of holding on to this prize money for x years the University should have been using it for a better purpose.
Responsibility is taught at home, if the school system is teaching basic forms of responsibility instead of parents then the Nanny State they will inherit will actually be justified. Academic subjects are what school is for with supplemental help at the home.
For all those who are against this schedule change realize that HS students may almost look like adults but they are still developing/growing and are going through a lot of hormonal changes. If it takes school opening up 2 hours later so that we can have communication techs instead of burger flippers I think the schedule shift may be warranted.
A broken arm will cost you around $2500. Sure, something like open heart surgery is going to hurt, but a broken arm is hardly a bankruptcy worthy event.
If you paid more for it than that, then you/your insurance got ripped off.
Tell that to the single mom working a secretary or as a waitress. Not everyone works in tech.
Tin foil hat on. Reverse Psychology/Social Engineering of Nerds. MS wants you to think that it was leaked on accident and then shows feigned ignorance of the Streisand effect; except that the Streisand effect is actually the method to get the misinformation out. Tin foil hat off.
If they owe money and Chase isn't properly capitalized (by massive pull out of money as grand parent suggests) then Chase will have to sell that debt to another bank (similar to how people have their mortgages sold) and probably go bankrupt in the process through discounts in the buy out. Or another bail out could possibly save them - I'd like to see how well that goes over.
The more prevalent this program is the less that it will become an issue since the younger students will have more peers at their age level concurrently enrolled in the program.
2nded.
If an exceptionally bright student wants to pursue a Masters or Doctorate degree then you have just saved them two years of pure hell of being bored in high school classes.
You don't have to be a bank to transfer funds from one point to another. Western Union can send money across international boundaries. It isn't a bank either, it's a financial service.
with out authorization it is credit card fraud among other things that a DA will throw at me. If a business gives my information to a third party and the third party charges my credit card then that's just sharing? I need to start up a couple of businesses.

I've found this site from MIT really helpful http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Mathematics/
If games like Resident Evil are showing up on it.. I would have to say yes.

Yes, but it's the same thing. You can't teach anyone anything they don't want to learn.
I know some Irish Catholic nuns at parochial school that would disagree and I'm currently better off for it.

After all, what's the hospital going to do? They can't repo. If they try to sue, the media will run a sob-story about this poor injured person.
