So that's a picture of an actual production PS3 is it?
I ask because there are sony supplied pictures of the PS3 with TWO hdmi ports and THREE ethernet connectors, in addition to about 328432 other ports. (it's the pictures with the boomerang controller).
This is a great game for people looking for games in the Catan/Amun Re/etc style but with quicker gameplay and simpler rules without sacrificing much of the "heart" in theses games.
The best thing is that it can be played 2 player. It's best with 3-5, but it's still enjoyable with 2.
Up until 2 months ago, the very first release (from october 2004) was still supported with security updates. No matter what version you have, you can skip the next two versions (meaning you don't HAVE to update for 18 months).
The current version will be supported for 24 months on desktops, or FIVE YEARS on servers. If updating twice in 6 1/2 years (if you originally installed 4.10 and the upgraded to 6.06, which you can run until June 2011) is too much for you, perhaps... well... I don't really have any suggestions.
-Ubuntu LTS will be supported for... 5? years on servers. This is by design. Contrast this to Debian's strategy of "don't release until all 143 arches have 0 blocker bugs" which leads to irregular release cycles. Debian stable staying static for so long has more been a side effect, not a planned thing.
-Ubuntu is more up to date than testing (with a few exceptions) when it's released, and more stable. Combine that with 6 monthly updates and you have a workable, but still "not quite bleeding edge" system. Ubuntu takes debian unstable's packages and refines them for 3 arches.
Debian is still excellent. Thanks to their superior arch support we get things like debian on the NLUS2 and other ARM platforms. The only problem is that they insist on all platforms being equal, whereas ubuntu is focused on being the best damned 32/64bit x86 distro around (with bonus PPC too!).
The ps3 sells for ¥59800 for the cheap model, and the "real" model (with hdmi/etc) is "open pricing." If it followed the US pricing it'd go for about ¥70000, but with open pricing it will likely go for close to ¥100000.
To equate, it IS selling for $999 in Australia.
In japan, ¥70000 a month can easily get you an apartment, and in Australia $250 a week (most rentals here are priced per week or fortnight, dunno why) can get you a small 3 bedroom HOUSE, or a large 2 bedroom house, for rent.
Many teachers are on the internet, and use AIM/etc. Would it have been rational for the student to complain to the authorities if the TEACHER had an AIM icon showing the student being shot, and the text "kill *studentname*" ? I say yes.
Except that it's less functional than the VXworks image, you mean?
Since they continued to release the GL, the ONLY reason apart from footprint for going to vxworks is so that they don't have to employ as many developers since they'd be getting a supported solution. Or do you have some other reason in mind?
Others have said it, but the reason is that VXWorks has a smaller footprint. The VXWorks versions have half the ram and half the flash space of the other versions.
Linksys/cisco embrace the whole "DIY" crowd and have produced a "WRT54GL" with the full amount of ram and flash so that linux hackers can do their thing. They made it difficult to flash the VXWorks one because too many idiots would try and flash a 4mb image on it and brick it, causing support headaches.
You could try reading the article, or doing some research, before flapping your mouth.
Buffet has always maintained he was going to give his entire fortune to philanthropic organizations upon his death. However, he has now moved it forward to before his death so that he can keep a closer eye on what's being done with the money.
Either way doesn't affect his "legacy," as it was all being given away via either course.
Your comment about objective based charities is also a bit silly, as it's quite easy for an objective charity to invent useless milestones to show progress while other charities are less constrained and thus more effective.
I worked for UPS for about 9 months after highschool, during Uni. On my start day, we filled out our HR paperwork and then were walked about 10 meters offsite to a trailer (like the ones used at schools with too many students) and sat down at desks to learn about "the teamsters." Two HUGE guys (6'2", 250lb type guys) come in to inform us about our option to join the union. The speech was (paraphrased from memory 10 years ago):
"We're your local union reps. You sign these papers and we automatically deduct your union fees from your wages. Does anyone not want to join the union? [pause] Good."
Now there was nothing DIRECTLY threatening, but as an 18 year old I wasn't about to raise my hand and point out that I'd not like to join the union...
I would be worried by a hosting provider that included a compiler on a production system. There is no need for one, and most *nix worms require the existance of one.
It's a basic security best practice.

It wouldn't be the same, which is the point. Firefly is a moving show where things happen. Neither Wash nor the Sheperd were in the original concept.
Slashdot is unavailable quite a lot for posting due to DB maint, meaning that all pages are coming from the cache and not the DB. Commment/etc posting is disabled, and I'd estimate it's more than 30 minutes per day average lately. With an oracle cluster this would not be an issue.

It's a joke. You've all been trolled.
You haven't seen their latest backtracking... they want 2 million by the end of the year, not on launch day.

Define "have to".

If by "nobody remembers" you mean "everybody remembers."
I've not seen a single discussion about the two formats which didn't get into the betamax issue.
Yes, but you forget that nintendo fans aren't like normal fans.
If the NES games are truely ~5$, I'll be buying a good few hundred dollars worth.
Also... I swear I don't still play through Contra at least once a week.
Which countries are counted in "every country" ?
It's not like that in Australia, and we have a mandatory vote.
Step 1: download a statically compiled binary
Step 2: run said binary from your home directory
To be fair, many HDTVs now come with at least 2, if not 3 HDMI ports, and almost every new receiver on the market right now has HDMI switching.

What does windows.forms support have to do with ASP.NET?

Who does? Westpac certainly doesn't.
Explain to me how new features in a new version of a product somehow lessen what the windows XP users paid for?
Are you ripped off or owed anything if the new ford focus next year comes with satellite nav, and the one you bought this year doesn't?

I fully believe his story.
Yes, but you can read the contents of "not_a_worm.pl". You can't read a compiled worm which deleted its source on first run.

NYC hasn't been a crime infested cesspool since the mid 90s. Now Atlanta on the other hand...
