    When your job is entirely about being root

    I somehow doubt that. Does every process you create need root privilege? Do you ever use grep (or awk or sed) and do you really need to run it with root privileges?
     
    With sudo you can selective run commands with root privilege.

    Auth cookies cannot help you delete accounts (or even change password) in well-designed site. The website prompts for the password to make sure its you.

    It would be completely acceptable if the information were publicly available.But what Bing Toolbar (allegedly) does is, when you visit google, it saves your search keyword and the results and sends them to Bing servers. And when someone else searches for similar keywords on Bing, it display these results. This in my opinion is not acceptable.

    Wow, I cannot believe that a bank would allow such lax passwords. I have a password with almost equal number of small caps and capital caps characters (typing it involves a lot of 'shift' key press and release). I guess I must have been a moron for creating a complicated password and remembering it!

    You can still sue them, claiming they are not working for the benefit of the shareholders (even if you are in the minority). Being a publicly listed corporation has its disadvantages too.
