Actually I read it that way at first. I was thinking 'cool, now that's a good way to increase Linux use'. - you order a boxed copy of Mandrake, and it is hand delivered by a hooker.
In fact, I remember writing a small program back in the 80's, which would ask you to repeatedly enter a 1 or a 0, trying to make them as random as possible. It would then analyse all your previous entries to try to discover patterns and try to predict what your next entry would be.
I forget the exact outcome, but it was over 50% accurate (I think in the 60% -70% range for enough entries) thus proving that you can't choose completely random numbers.
If they send you a letter, calmly inform them that you have rewritten the disputed code sections on all your machines and recompiled the kernel.
If they demand proof, inform them that they should let you know the exact line numbers within which functions so that you can send them the rewritten code. If they demand all your kernel code, tell them that your modifications are a Trade Secret, and that you are permitted only send them specific small sections of code.
IANAL, but it would seem to me to be a good defence, given that they are unwilling to reveal exactly which sections of code were supposedly stolen.
You are obviously one of those goddamn commies. Stop questioning authority and get back to being a good consumer. If you don't like it, go and live in Russia.
That wasn't the only reason they failed. They didn't take up all the opportunities they could have.
Example: about 3 years ago I went to the Linux Expo in London. There was a stall there selling Loki's games, and I bought a couple of games. However, the company selling the games wasn't Loki, it was another company which had just ordered on line and received some of Loki's products. Nobody from Loki was there at all. Thousands of visitors over three days, and not one Loki sales rep.
I know I will get flamed by all the Apple enthusiasts for this, but Apple is only *moderately* better than Microsoft. Otherwise, I would expect them to stand up more against this kind of thing.
But the plan doesn't seem to be working too well...for whatever reason, SCO have been unable to specify openly which parts of the Linux kernel are supposedly infringing their copyrights.
Unless that happens soon, people will lose interest and the whole issue will be forgotten.
What format is the tune in ? I would be interested if it were in a high quality .ogg format.

Is there a site which shows who your MEP's are, and what there email addresses are ? I intend to mail all my MEPs about my opposition to this issue.
Bender: what a strange dream...I thought I saw a '2'.

You can try it yourself and see what happens.
How many fps were they getting ?
Hey, you might be interested to check out my little application LiVES

Why make things more difficult than they have to be ?
How else would they shut you down if they found you using an invalid activation key ?
...I want some of whatever (non-existant) SCO is smoking. Must be some pretty good shit.
What makes you think that is FUD ?
But then again, this is Slashdot, so they probably wouldn't get very much...
Hmm, strange. I always thought the units of measurement were the double-decker bus and the football pitch.
...will the music be playable under any O/S, or will this just be a way to trap students into make Bill Gates richer ?

Well, give it a try, and if you have any useful suggestions for the interface please mail me and I will take them into consideration.
Well, you could try LiVES

Hmm...I wonder how long it will be before US industry is entirely composed of companies who don't produce anything, but just keep suing each other.
