There is a new movie coming out about William Shakespeare, called "Anonymous." As soon as I heard about this, I figured that there would be some sort of backlash by Anonymous. Then I saw that it was made by Sony Pictures. http://www.anonymous-movie.com/
People keep joking about this, but it is a real problem. I know that I, for one, take every possible precaution against zombie attacks, but unless the government recognizes this threat, the problem still exists. In fact, instead of just taking the time to make a public statement about the impending threat of a zombie apocalypse, they try their hardest to make it look like nothing zombie-related ever happens. Wake up sheeple! It is a HUGE government consp37he56^&$%*`]-&(!##&NO CARRIER
Yes, why would anyone want something that has USB ports? Also, with a netbook, who is going to tell you which programs to install? I would be so lost without Apple holding my hand every step!
It is an open-sourced FPS based on a quake III mod. I just started playing and it is awesome. Also, Glest (an RTS) and Globulation 2(another RTS) are very good. All of them are in the Ubuntu repos.
That happened to me when my new Vista laptop was two months old! Then I installed Linux. Now, it is fast while running Compiz Fusion with all windows semitransparent and having a million applets in the panels! Vista took at least five minutes to open the file manager...
How do they expect ordinary people to set up a log? I know that most people with wireless networks do not even know what "DHCP" means, never mind how to monitor it. Also, where are the logs supposed to be stored? Are ordinary users supposed to have storage servers in their basements? What about all of that "conserve energy" stuff? I wish the government would get a clue. I am reminded of the "System of tubes" speech...
...but to protocols instead of entire world-wide networks:
This sounds strangely like Telnet vs SSH.
People still use telnet, it is just a lot less prominent due to the security risks.
Also, HTTP is the most widely used protocol for hypertext, although HTTPS is more secure.
They misspell a word in a very subtle way in order to catch people, and then one of the most popular sites on the Internet (among geeks, at least) has a story telling about it...
This is anything but true. Computing skills are crucial now, so stop living in the 70's. Computers are a very important learning tool (which would you rather be taught with: stationary drawings on a white board or interactive content that gets the point across without being overly boring?) On top of that, the more geeky students in the school will start hating computer class if there is too much horribly low-level technology education.
I have the same problem...sort of...
I have met highschool computer teachers who obviously are advanced professionals who know what they are doing, but teach students how to use e-mail and do not know how to eject a CD from an iMac(for those who are not familiar with the Mac keyboard layout you press one clearly marked button on the keyboard). Confusing.
Did anyone else read the title and think they were throwing iPad manuals out of planes?

Cue thousands of kids thinking they have schizophrenia.

From my experiences with them, it is most likely a combination of numbers 1&3.

Pirates (the old-fashioned kind)
You mean like Han Solo?
people start the comment in the title.
We will end up with a history teacher making one of these things and using it to emulate Nazi Germany in the classroom without the students' knowlage.
BS... Bing System!! It works on so many levels.
It is an engine Microsoft uses to make decisions for you!

the cult of "why the fuck you can not see the "print" link, you ass?" cult.
What about the cult of redundency cult?
Mobiles represent a lack of control, since unknown phones could exist in any location and cannot be centrally monitored.
Except with a Faraday cage...
do not use sudo. You do not want to kill the panels running under root, because there most likely are none.

The fact is, no one and no institution is an island.
Except Alkatraz... although, even that was insecure.

In the US, accidental misspellings are much less common because there are much fewer languages getting spoken in any given area.
