The worst ones are the fuckers that voted for him in the 2nd round, and now are all disappointed and disaproving. WTF? They couldn't see that the guy has no clue about terrorism, liberty and security until after all his ideas costs us thousands of lives, loss of rights, and loss of international credibility?
I actually heard people say they're glad about security checkpoints at stadiums and other family venues. I lived in a communist country once, and I can tell you, in some respects this place is just as much of a big brother as the ex Yugoslavia.
And to even think that they chose 2 guys for Commander in Chief and VP who have never actively served in a war, and went as far out of their way as they could so as not to serve, over a decorated veteran. (In a time of war, no less.)
I'm proud to be an American, well at least I know I'm free... Yeah, you guys keep singing that...
Nice. I wonder what does Dell charge for a built in hi-res webcam, slot loading optical, 1.08 inch wide "my 5 year old just stepped on it" resistant case, scrollpad, iLife and OS X. Now it looks even worse for Dell.
It has nothing on Quake Wars in terms of fun teamplay. Seeing as how many people have broadband nowdays, playing FPSes against AI is not the same as what it used to be.
For all the gimmics they throw at you, the gameplay is still linear. Give me class-based, objective-based, online teamplay over eye candy any day.
Sandman is a deep, long story, I've enjoyed it. Also there is Cerebus the aardvark, but at 6000 pages I couldn't read it all at once. I'd recommend Joe Sacco's "Palestine" and "Safe area Gorazde" for a good look at situations you won't get through evening news. Marjane Satrapi's "Persepolis" and "Persepolis II" are also a good read about a girl from Iran. And of course "Maus" is just better than awesome.
who the fuck decides to mod the first post redundant? the OP is not redundant, and most certainly is presenting a different pt of view from TFA.
not only that, but I agree with him. mac users are no more savvy than PC users. my brother in law, mother in law, another friend, and a couple of coworkers have all purchased macs recently. all of them are extremely happy with them, yet not a single one of them knows what a file extension, terminal, or root is. they just use their macs for office, web, digital pics, and music, without having to worry about adminning the machine.
so in which way are they now more savvy than before, while they were using PCs?
I agree with you to a certain point, media will sell this for all its worth, relying on our fears. However, if something like this does strike, those who haven't thought about dealing with it are gonna be in for a shock.
I lived in a warzone (briefly- 5 months), where we would only get electricity and running water for a few hours a day. It requires a major lifestyle change. When you have to use the same bucket of water to wash your dishes, then clothes and then to flush the can, it requires some planning. If the water processing personell doesn't show up at work, either because they're sick or worried, where are you going to get your clean water from? How are you going to boil it if you have no electricity? How long do you think milk for the kids stays fresh without electricity?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating we all dig out shelters in our back yards, but if a pandemic hits, lots of people are gonna be shocked to high heaven because they were completely oblivious to what was going around them.
But hey, you'll be in Iowa, and I'm in Nebraska, so we should be a lot safer than the city-slickers on the coasts;)
Exactly. Just like the people who suggest you look both ways before crossing the street... It's a waste of time, it can hurt your neck, and make your iPod earphones fall out.
There's nothing we can do in either case, plus we have either God or Government (or both!) on our side so we can just relax and enjoy life!!!
And for when (or rather IF) it hits, I have a great freak out plan: I'll just shoot all my neighbors and take their food and water! Who's with me?
HAH! The joke's on you. With the truck maintainers, dispatchers, drivers, train loaders, controllers and engineers, grocery chain administrators, stockers, floorpeople and salespeople staying home either sick, hungry, scared or dying there won't be any need for gas!
That's the best part of it, see, the gorillas will just freeze in the winter!
The problem with your argument is that chickens do not transmit lightning strikes to each other, nor has it ever been documented that one organizm can transmit a lightning strike to another. (Though there is a Sci-ops contingent known as E.E.L.S. that has moderate success.)
pfft. easy-peasy... write it down on a sticky and teach your kid to type it in. call it Monsters Inc. admin rights access team training. kids will love it.
fucking teriffic... 3 series of articles, half a dozen pages each, just to tell me why I have to slow down my workflow when deliting or renaming files.
Does this mean that Apple is ready to go on the offensive and increase its marketshare? It seems that they've been preparing for years (OS X, iLife, iPods) in fine-tuning their products and with a smoothly going Intel switch they are ready to make a substantial move into homes. Sadly, until they get "ghosting" process smooth they won't be able to make a massive entrance into the office. I'd predict that within 5 years, in the US homes, they'll have close to a 15-20 % marketshare (If not even more). A LOT of the people I know have already purchased Macs, and are EXTREMELY happy with them.
As a Bosnian, I gotta tell you that this could easily be a hoax. On the other side his claims could be completely true, stranger things have happened there. Medjugorje is not too far away. (Where it is claimed that Virgin Mary has appeared.)
On the 29th of April apparently they have uncovered some surface plates on the outside of the "Pyramid."Link. From the article, and from the mouth of the Osmanagic himself: "The very surface of these monoliths lost the shine it had thousands of years ago. However, the shape is phenomenal, and the surface is completely flat. Places where the plates connect are symmetric and as can easily be seen, are hand-made."
He expects that within the next 200 days, as he will be doing more digging, he will have certain proof.
Well, come on, it's Halo we're talking about. Color me bitter because I didn't like walking up and down the library and what I heard was a nonending of Halo2. But thanks though, I always hate when my flames get modded as trolls. (Either you've told the mods what to mod me, or all the cool and informed mods are modding "Games", the best section of./ ) So, for those unsure of the difference between the troll and flamebait, here's an explanation on trolling: Link.
bah, boloney. of course Hillary ain't it either.
not all of us are tree hugging hippies.
but I like to know I'm voting for a man with character. bush wouldn't know what that was even if chaney could find it in the dictionary for him.

I wonder what they've changed with respect to keyboard.
They claim that it is firmer than before.

Seeing as it is more than a quarter of an inch thinner than the iBook G4, this one looks like a pretty nice little system.
oh, shit, you're absolutely right. make that based on wolf ET.

Submission has more than one meaning, chief. I was referring to the *other* one.
It's a joke, you see.
Busy at work, no time to read your post, but put me down for submission under Samus.
She looks like she could give Lara a run for her money.
Penetrating Penthouse?

Thank you, thank you.

I can already see it now... multiple widescreen LCDs, macbooks and most ergonomical pens ever designed for everyone...
Exactly.

Do Intel Macs work the same way?
We're thinking about deploying some in a student lab.
I saw 2 ads last night on Jay Leno.
But yeah, you're right about the peculiar timing of the onslaught of Mac virus stories.
Does this mean that Apple is ready to go on the offensive and increase its marketshare?

Doesn't that make them an easier target for future lawsuits?
