Get an Xserve with OS X server software, it has a built in Jabber based IM service. You can chose to federate it with other servers, such as gmail etc. Don't know what clients it requires on the windows side, but we are a Mac shop, and it gives us state-wide audio/video capabilities. Rock solid too.
Newspapers (as in "news" printed on paper) may be dead, or dying due to the medium switching to electronic distribution of information, but Journalism is far from dead. Far from it, in this age when every prepubescent teen with an agenda can slap an opinion blog and consider it news, it is more important than ever to have professionals discovering, editing and presenting information.
Completely offtopic, but... Have you seen those commercials with Kate Moss advertising some face make-up or something, and at the end, she presents the tagline "Get the London Look!"
Well, who the hell wants to pay for a freckled face and bad teeth?
Remember how in Wing Commander, AI was used to compute FTL jumps? Well, NASA could use such AI to convert imperial to metric, and vice versa, to correctly land probes on Mars! Without such technology, no other race could make accurate computations for Mars (and other solar system) landings.
You may not have heard of Constraint Satisfaction, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Genetic Programming. But I assure you, what computers end up doing, may not have anything to do with their original programming.
To add to that, if they're constantly getting viruses by viewing photos, or not doing anything to intentionally download the such scumware, perhaps they need to re-learn how to use their OS in the first place. So if they'll be learning how to use an OS, they may as well learn to use the safe(r) one.
It's going to be a 10 inch touch tablet. Essentially like a 10 inch iPod Touch. For say 800 bucks. It's going to be quarter of an inch thick, it'll be sweet, it won't be a "netbook" (hence the reason for the higher price) and it'll probably be missing something obvious like GPS.

Can the DVD download also be used as a live-cd? I'd like to see what it's like before installing.
If Apple were smart, they'd make some ads about this, and play them on TV.

I know I'm late to the party, but...
Not only that, but we didn't nuke them from orbit. And that's the only way to be sure.

At first I read it as "unauthorized" and thought someone will have a lot of explaining to do.

I'm uninitiated at the arts of ARM, and am too lazy to look it up.
