I don't think you understand. A lot of us "outraged" at the omission of FW are mad because of the following reasons:
-digital video (My sister was sold on the capability to import movies of her son and make DVDs and send them to our parents overseas. Big deal for home users interested in this.) -digital audio (I don't know anything about that, so I can't comment, it seems like a big deal.) -firewire target disk mode (huge deal for those of us supporting friends and family, even bigger for those of us who have to deploy tens of laptops at the same time. We use firewire drives to slap images on them. If you've never done this you probably don't understand the huge time saving.) -firewire devices (I've invested in a few FW hard drives because of their power through bus capability, portability and speed, now they're all useless for data storage, time machine, etc.)
There are counter arguments too... - digital video, all the HD camcorders supposedly come with USB - digital audio.. whatever, I don't know -FW TDM.. use time machine, or netrestore, or go se a genius instead of friend-tech support -firewire devices... SOL
I've successfully "switched" over a dozen friends and family to macs, knowing that in a pinch I could boot into FW TDM and recover their data, or that simply buying an inexpensive external FW disk they could have TimeMachine. But now, I will not suggest a MacBook for anyone that I may need to support. Especially not for work, where we have over 50 MacBooks deployed. Which is unfortunate, because it really is an excellent machine.
Not only that, but without FireWire mode, you can't boot as the target firewire drive. This comes in handy in many troubleshooting instances.
Now the only way to do user migration wizard would be via the ethernet. Not very useful if your macbook won't boot in the first place. I guess they're relying on TimeMachine to be the primary rescue method of the future.
I can't complain about that, I guess, I've successfully used it on a few occasions.
Come on folks, you should realize that Apple would never shut iTunes store down. How would they then sell iPods?
They are simply posturing for the day when Steve has to say "We've tried every alternative option but the Labels wouldn't let us. So, knowing how much you love music, and how much we at Apple love music, we decided to split the cost with you. From now on, songs will be $1.05 (or whatever), we'll pay for half the Labels' demands, and we think you'll love being able to use iTunes and enjoy your music."
Cheers and jeers.
Now, we all know that Jobs doesn't like being played, so during the next re-negotiations with labels, I think Steve will find a way to really hurt them. Hell, maybe even make them drop the DRM.
As a fan of OS X, and Apple in general, I think they are trying to see how far they can push their control over the matter.
On the subject of their NDA, I'm not an insider, but it seems stupid, unnecessary, and harmful to me.
Android may be more open, but that does not always mean it's better. A few things are for certain: - no one is comparing Android to Blackberry. It seems that the iPhone has become the de-facto one to kill. - it will sure be interesting to see the battle between iPhone's closed development model on a hot device, and Android's open development on so-so devices.
As a NIN fan, I may be out of line, but IMHO, neither the double translucent interactive NIN screens, nor the neon pyramid can stack against Spinal Tap's 18" Stonehenge replica.
As a Safari user, i find that reading mainstream media and "security researchers" fucking hurts my head. First Safari is bad because it doesn't have anti-phishing. Then FireFox is bad because because it throws a fit on un-signed certificates. WTF do they all recommend? Exploder?
I guess it all fits with the flow of uneducated American populace, too ignorant to learn to use a computer properly, so "Security Experts" need to be babysitting them.
(for those of you wondering why I use Safari, it's because of its superb in page find feature.)
No, you're quite wrong. Remember that one scene, where the crazy Arab is doing his thing, and Indy simply pulls out his gun and shoots him? That scene is all wrong, due to editing restraints, we don't get to see that in fact, the Arab shot at Indy first (but missed), so Indy shot him in self-defense.
I hope that they show that in remastered trilogy. I don't want my kids to grow up thinking that Indy jones is a ruthless murderer.

OK, guys it's Friday, so lay off the Troll moderation, but picture this:
"Hello, I'm Dick Smalley, and I specialize in production of small things!"
Dude, all the mods as of late are troll-modding.
Mr. Obama? Hi! My name is Larry Bagina, and I'd like to talk to you about...

That might not be a bad thing.
Because then, we could move on with the plan B: deliver 2000 (US) gallons of mercury (Hg) to the moon!

It's not about market share it's about who they're trying to kill.
Google has about 65,800 entries for "blackberry killer" and 604,000 for "iPhone killer". I'll leave the ratio as an exercise to the reader.
I don't know, google it.
"Hot" as in not having anything to do with specs.
There was once this device that had wireless and more space than the iPod, but I forget its name.

They may just both win on their own merits.
Way to go Microsoft!

like how unemployment has been, on average, lower in a Bush Presidency than Clinton's
Data, or preferably graphs, please.
I think he errs when he tries to establish a database connection.
I think it's a pretty common problem for older guys though.

I've heard it's pretty repetitive though.
Well, I'm a state employee, and I can tell you that a few 7 hour days in a row would outright kill me.
Warning, Electric Universe theory mentioned and referenced, as well as Plasma and Thunderbolt themes.
Pretty pictures though.
Hmm, I'd be inclined to bet that it will hide precisely 9cm!

Like someone said a few months back, now all the games will be composed entirely of shiny balls, toruses, and checkerboards.
Hmm, it didn't include the link..

Finally, Bill Gates got tired of all the spam, and took care of it as promised.
At first I was going to complain about the lack of pictures, but then I realized they wouldn't be too revealing anyway.
