Here (Eugene Oregon) we have a place called Next Step. They recycle electronic stuff. Usable is repaired and sold, usable parts salvaged, toxic stuff stripped out, remainder recycled. Look for a similar place near you.
Exactly. You have control. I have used slack for years to run a dual homed host. Iptables, BIND and SNORT and away you go . It takes some set up , and some care in the set up but maintenance is nil.
I left one ISP somewhat perplexed when he tried to convert me to PPOE. I found an ISP in Portland OR (DSL only)that will provide bridge mode and we linked up.
You seem to have a little sympathy for Yahoo. I used to but, no longer. They did it to themselves. Other wise, yes , the combo of MSFT and yahoo is likely to be a "drain on resources". And it's going to be MSFT's . Oh joy Oh Joy.
Now if MSFT would buy AOL all would be well with the world. Maybe they could diversify, maybe buy a airline, or Kmart....
MSFT blows big bucks (may even has to borrow money). Yahoo share holders get bailed out, MSFT distracted by a tarbay for years to come. It just doesn't get much better than this.
I might even have to buy some Yahoo stock just to vote YES YES YES.
When investigating/examing internal controls over cash, you use the same idea. How can you get money out of the system? If you can find it, so can someone else.
I am not a stock holder nor an employee. While I have some sympathy for the current staff, the only negative I can see to CC driving itself into the ground, is I might have to got to Best Buy. While not my preference it can be done.
> Likely the same storm we had in the Willamette Valley. two Dish network dishes and 90cm for "other" came thru OK. I expected no less. The trick is to not mount them on top of the house. Dishes do not need to be high like a TV antennae. They need only a clear view of a portion of the sky

Gee , it's kind of hard to decide which side to root for on this one.
A pox on bother their houses.
House two houses down was bot last month for 625.000 for son to attend Uof O.
Father is a CFO, annual comp circa 3,000,000.
House next to that had 725.000 put into it for son to attend U of O.
Father surgeon in Tuscon.
Just poor impoverished students.

Chicken feed.
When we had to watch Portland (OR) channels (the only ones) we used stacked 12 element Yagis, for 100 - 120 miles.
And sometimes a fuzzy picture from KOMO in Seattle 250 miles. (the hill we were on helped a lot)
I think we should also ask for a $5.00 tax on every copy of Turbo Tax that is sold.
Every one of those babies costs a tax preparer a client.
I would recommend a little reading about the period 1929 thru 1940.
See if it sounds like fun.
"FROM:hotmail.com DISCARD" in your sendmail access file.
Do you really want to associate with "those" kind of people?
NB It seems to block a bit of spam also.
Shouldn't this be followed by another oft repeated story, the "Great Whale Blowup" in Oregon?

does this mean I have to microwave my cloths?
Guess why. The govenment quit buying it so they quit seperating it.
Who were they going to sell it to?
now there is a heretical thought.

Wont cost anymore than it does now. What is "Heroes"?
Seriously; SPIKE has already passed the limit.
This is right up there in importance with Jay Leno's script writers being on strike.
They care, I don't.
Redundant it may be , but real it is.
