The speed and decisiveness of the EU makes me wonder if they will do ANYTHING in my lifetime. I see MSFT tieing them in their own knots, and I don't think the the EU is capable (politicly) of acting. Dither would seem to be the operative word.
People who use NAT for internal networks are going to come up with some strange profiles. Cookies you say: that disappear when you close the browser? People behind the NAT not always using the same browser/OS?
the meld of X-box on line + slackware/opera + XP/firefox/opera + W2000/opera is going to look like a profile a marketer could sell anything to.
Amazon has enough trouble trying to sell me X-box stuff, I don't use an X-box.
Doesn't anyone live where there are local providers? Have you have looked at http://www.dslreports.com/ ? I got one thru them , a local in Portland, that provides a bare DSL connection, to Qwests line. One fixed IP and always on bridge connection.
It doesn't have to be a billion dollar corp to provide you with good DSL service.
We waited on the taxiway in Paris (CDG) while be burned off enough fuel to take off. We were over weight. The even went to far as to "count the kids". Children are plugged into the weight calculations at a lesser value than adults. And it did take a long roll to get airborn. Paris to Sfran , 11 hours.
I can understand them losing track of their remote, but not being able to find the off switch on the TV has got to be some sort of record. I would be embarassed to admit I couldn't turn off my TV.
