    So what did they do to get women involved with the sciences.... did they change the lingo to better suit women?

    You would expect a certain speed with a certain thrust- even if the optimum takeoff speed changes. This would tell you if your calculations are off.

    yes you think there would be a speed you would expect to be at half way(or some other decision point) down the runway where you would abort the takeoff if it was too low.

    Yes that is a ridiculously small margin.... it's not hard to imagine a series of errors adding up to 5%. What about a sudden tail wind?

    It's always fascinating to track the progression of a 'tools', where creating the tool aids in the development of something more advanced. It's obvious that you cannot design an advanced chip without a computer.

  11. Lots of old electronics work, lots of them don't work. Same with computers. A very simple point.....

  12. I am not talking about a completely analog phone- that is a ridiculous example. How about a 20 YO cell phone, or answering machine or cordless phone?

  13. Do you think consumer electronics that have seen a nominal amount of usage over 20 years will be still working? Probably not, and that includes your telephone example. I don't think there is anything special either way about computers.

  16. It's not childish at all, businesses commonly withdraw their services because they don't consent to something, often times political. As a software developer this is his 'business'. How is this different? Please contrast with thing like beating up refugees.

    Yes but none of the adobe software runs on the ipad except for some crippled drawing sofware, so you will need a 'real' computer to do anything with what you create with it. The surface pro has pressure sensitive stylus and can run the full version of photoshop.

    Yup, unless there is a massive outbreak of resistant bacteria that only the new antibiotic will treat.. it will never get used. After 17 years you will lose exclusivity to make the drug. Sounds like a huge risk.
