    There is as much print work done now as 1995. Like it or not people aren't going to invest in a image editing platform that doesn't support print.

    GIMP doesn't really support CMYK so it is useless for print work.

    Yup this means absolutely nothing for the average person. I doubt businesses that pay for commercial service are going to have throttling either....

    Actually you are correct. They have observed significant greening in the Sahara as warming increases moisture over the region. Desertification is caused by global cooling....

    That fact that ideas or an opinion are more dangerous than actually acting in a misogynistic manner is rather disconcerting. I think google really opened themselves up to a lawsuit in this case.

    Not really on /. though most people here spend their day behind a computer, what is the point of an expensive phone? Also you say I am an exception... who really 'needs' a smartphone today? Most people use it as a toy.

    Buildings and property are way more expensive and dense now. Even buildings in 1906 were crap a earthquake now in san franscisco of same magnitude would be far more costly. I bet you property values in Loma Prieta are 5-10x what they were in 1989.

    That's bonkers I spend about 150$ a year on phone and it is plenty for keeping in touch with teenage kids

    I raced in desert for 10 years and if I crashed it was because of something I did. Not wanting to get smeared against a curb by an old lady that spilled coffee in her lap or some guy texting his brah hardly makes me a coward.

  21. I don't really get a hangover but after I've had a few drinks I will wake up 4 am in the morning and can't get back to sleep. I've pretty much quit drinking because the next day is ruined because of lack of sleep.

    What are dogs smelling in the air when they detect cancer? Obviously not the cancer cells themselves, it must be a mixture of volatile compounds that could be detected with mass spectroscopy or other technique on the spot. Certainly less invasive than a biopsy...
