Yeah, you must know a lot about gaming because these guys all suck at Q3A! =P

Admittedly, there are a lot of great players not playing, but that's because only 3 form each country made it... there is a very high concentration of "top 10" talent in the US and a few other Euro countries... thus the field is not as strong as if it were an "open" event... however, to say that there aren't ANY top 10 people playing is simply erronious.

If you want to look at the scenery, sure, 30fps at 640x480 is ok. But when it somes to making a railgun shot across a map, 1600x1200 vs. 640x480 is like foreplay with oven mits on. Sure you can do it, but you can do it a LOT better the other way.

Same with framerates. If, at a distance, your head is only 3-4 pixels wide (which would be only one at 640x480), the more FPS I am getting, the more opportunity I have to register (visually) that my crosshairs are on you, and thus I am a better player.

Plus, there are many a "documented anomaly" at higer FPS that the l33t gamers use in Q3 (and I guess other games, but since everyone plays Q3 or Counter-Strike, who cares =)

Though I get your point... I guess it depends on which side of the coin you are sitting on... looks vs. speed.

So, let's assume that this has been done in the UK... again, I don't know the laws there, so I am most likely talking out my buttocks, but.... This brings up two issues.

    1) What is RELIGION? If enough people believe (or at least say they do on a form) is it a religion? It has to be, since all the "major" ones have the same burden of proof... "our book says we are the right one, therefore we are." Honestly, the Hindi, Christian, Asartu, whatever "creation" mythos and scriptures, and "otherworldly" places, people, etc. and so on all have the same logical proof (you can't prove OR disprove any of them) and so how do you define religion as a "belief system"? You can't, as none of them are "provable".

    2) Who cares what religion you are? The "official" religion of England was created because one man wanted a divorce, yes? Does filling the form out "wrong" (claiming to be a Jedi) get you free stuff, a tax break, or a chicken in every pot? If not, who the hell cares?

If you had 100 "uints" of bandwidth and you the ADDED 174 percent of that capacity (I guess they mean in this case that "growth == new", which is not clear), you would have 274 "units",which is not near triple either... it's closer to two and a half times... but I'm sure the folks who are exited enough to write about it want it to be triple.

You can also do the "shampoo" statistics. Take a 12 oz. bottle of shampoo. Make it into an 18oz bottle. It's now "50% bigger"... unless you do the math from the other side, in which case it's only 33% bigger.
