I've have four Nokia phones as I got a new one with each job i took over the past 7 years. Each on has been dropped on the floor a number of times, and generally subjected to a fair bit of abuse. All four of them work, and I have never had a problem with any them.

I doubt a small hard drive could take this kind of punishment. One hard knock, and somethings going to break. I'd much prefer 1G of flash memory in a phone that I know will last me a few years.

Problem is it's not available outside the UK, which is a shame as its mainly brits living outside the UK that would benifit from a broadband service.

Looks like using one for a DVD player, or your old Commadore 64 would be OK without a licence, the key is "If you use", not "If you have".

You DO need one "If you use" a tuner card in your PC to watch TV, but not if you use it for digitising home movies.

Thanks to BitTorrent, and a DIVX campatible DVD player (i recommend one of those), I am getting my fix again. (Check out "The Power Of Nightmares, The Rise Of The Politics Of Fear" fro example, I don't think this will be aired in the US in a hurry...)

I'd be more than happy to pay the BBC licence fee, and watch UK-TV legally here in Sweden, but it's not possible. I can't get it through my cable provider, or over the net.

Channel 4 have a broadband service you can subscribe to, unfortunatly it's not available outside the UK.

The only way to get access to most Brittish TV is via BitTorrent, and the networks can't be loosing too much revenue as they are not provising a service to compete with the illegal downloads. I hope they get their act together soon, I'd much prefer to pay and see the stuff when it's aired.

As for UK leading the world for downloads, what do you expect US TV is crap! We produced this and this, you guys produced this and this.

Never heard if he pulled it off or not.

(I heard all this over a few beers in a bar in Chamonix, so I've no idea if theres any truth behind it.)
