As a resident of the area I beg you to get the plans to build such a device on the internet. You'd be doing all of us a big favor.
To those who say it's stealing service: It's stealing my sanity (what little I have left). And if somebody needs to make an emergency call a jammer can be switched off.
I liked the white noise my computer provided at college. Living in the dorms people would be up at all hours making noise outside. Leaving a loud computer on was the only way to drown some of that noise out without leaving a TV or music on. Other people thought my room was "quiet" too.
I got a pair of Timberland / Mountain Athletics hiking sandals at REI about a year and a half ago. I've never had them set off the metal detector in an airport (although the fascists at SFO made me take them off once). They've held up very well and this past semester I've walked at least 7 miles a week in them. I can't find them on the REI site and I haven't been to one of the stores in quite a while. If you want more info or a pic just post a reply.
Everybody knows that the big casinos give out free drinks so you loosen up and gamble more. So here's what you do:
1. Get lots of chips in your pockets 2. Secure said chips in such a way that you can't get them when you're drunk (maybe in a bag with a cable tie) 3. Stand around and let the casino see how much you have to lose 4. Get free drinks:)
It's not even a good value any more. I can remember getting a LEGO Model Team Formula race car model and assembling that for days for a little bit every day before and after school. It was great and filled up a lot of time. Now the kits can be put together in 5 minutes.
My solution would be to get one of those four drawer wheeled contraptions at Target or wherever. Put one console and controllers / accessories in each drawer. Put a hole in the back of the drawer for any cables that need to reach the TV / net / power. Open the drawer when playing a game, close it when your done.
Outside of the drawers use cable ties to keep things tidy.
Years ago I used to use Win98 but switched to Linux. It didn't take me long to realize that having a dos or win boot disk wasn't a bad thing so I befouled a floppy disk and made one with my roommates computer. Used dd to make an image of it and have had it ever since. It's come in useful for BIOS updates even on a machine with no floppy drive. If anybody wants a copy just e-mail me and I'll get it to you.
Anybody hardware that may require a boot disk at some time should provide one. If they had to pay fees to MS something tells me an alternative would come along in no time.
I agree the Debian installer was difficult but it wasn't because of the questions it asked. I was anything but a newbie when I tried to install Debian. The interface isn't that intuitive and dselect is awful. At no point did I have trouble with answering questions. Now I just use Knoppix to install a minimal system and apt-get everything I need.
Apparently the server is hurting more than his fingers ever did: MOCpages is undergoing emergency repairs. Please try back at 2:30pm Eastern Time. (19:30 GMT).
Exactly. Currently the industry can churn out utter crap and as long as it's advertised well it will be #! at the box office. If people know it sucks there go the profits. I'm surprised they don't try banning film reviews since it must be such a drain on their right to massive profits.
The dot com crash had a lot to do with the realisation that ad supported sites would not flourish; few today make revenue purely from advertising - unless their content is astounding.
The km module is a bit rough yet. I don't have it compiled because it needs module versioning turned off in the kernel for some reason. You can't use AVview with cron, however, once the AVview app is launched you can use another program (like ffmpeg to do the recording.
It's scary - there is a Diebold ATM machine near a Mexican restaurant I frequent. It's big and intimidiating, yet I can't help but think it's going to screw me over. If it weren't watched by a camera I'd take a hammer to it.

...too stupid to ignore? Judas Priest on a pony, this is the same stuff that has been refuted time and time again.
Heh. I don't even worry... 50 light years a way is a big enough barrier to me. Might as well start buying coal.
Ja, I know the feeling. On a couple occasions I've seen a stack of papers in my room and wondered why I hadn't tarred and gzipped them yet.

In fact some CD's don't even go much past 30 minutes!

I'll have you know I've inserted the material to fax in upside down many times.
Thanks for the updates. Luckily most the geeky stuff is still the same :)

By astounding you mean pornography, right
They did shut down lyrics sites. RIP lyrics.ch >;[

Grazer... sounds like the perfect name for a techmetal band \m/
You should get the story of Grazer up someplace like everything2.
I've had my form for about three weeks now.

RTFA. One of the major problems with the plant they wanted to build is that the site was right on a major fault line.
Yes you are so right. Obviously a power company would never plan to do something stupid like build a power plant on the San Andreas fault line.
