Bloat doesn't magically appear when you put an Apple logo on something.
Have you ever used Apple produced software (iTunes, Quicktime, etc.) on Windows? Or noticed their memory requirements on their own OS?
Not that MS is necessarily any better, but, yeah, Apple is one of the Triumvirate of Bloat for consumer software, in my not-so-humble opinion. The sit in their little triangular table with MS and Adobe.
Maybe it's just a windows thing, but on my MacMini(2,1) running 10.5.8, they total about 190 MB of memory - this is with Finder, Safari, iTunes, QuickTime, and Activity Monitor running. Either the applications quickly got more lightweight, or Windows is just retarded with how it handles memory.
Let me tell you buddy, all of us don't have that sense of entitlement. Just like with every other population group, the few idiots make the whole set of folks look bad.
I see World of Warcraft following the same path as D&D. You're not going to get the great game mechanics, instances, battlegrounds, unique experience, etc. that you find in the game and package it into a movie. It's bound to disappoint because by definition, it must embody something that cannot contain what makes the game great. You might as well lift the plot from Dune, The Count of Monte Cristo or Lord of the Rings and dump it into the Warcraft universe. This movie has the odds stacked against it. Especially if I am expecting the World of Warcraft experience from it. How do you build an ending to a movie for a game that has no ending?
If you give the Bible-thumping idiots an inch, they will take the field.
Where do you find that this only applies to Christians? While I hate the prospect of censoring ANY speech, at least it seems they're being inclusive of the 'other viewpoints'.
19" SyncMaster 943BWX is what I'm using right now at 1400 x 900. Not quite your bag on the vertical end of things, but the SyncMaster line is probably worth looking into.
Besides that, there is also the problem of the greater weight of the camera causing it to fall faster than the lighter grains of sand. Ideally, you'd want to observe the sand in as stationary and synchronized a manner as possible. However, if the camera is moving relative to the sand, it would be difficult to monitor any particular clump of falling sand.
I have one word to say to you and just one word: Galileo.
Since iTunes' current music DRM = nonexistent, any third party devices/software that support AAC audio on Linux will be happy with the files....now *getting* the files using only Linux, that's another matter.
I think this means that, if you use the new GC in a production setting and it clobbers some mission-critical piece of data, they would really like you to have some support contract with them, rather than never using G1 or Java again. It is 'early release' after all.
Brother man, I did not support the invasion of Iraq one iota, but I'd support a multinational invasion force in North Korea, you better believe it.
I agree. In Iraq, we had suspicions, ONLY suspicions, of WMDs. With North Korea, they have proven to us that not only do they have WMDs, but they also have rocket technology capable of delivering them to Japan, South Korea, Vietnam...
Put OS X on PC hardware and Apple will be the next king of silicon valley.
Yes, they would win on the software side. However, if you can put OSX on PC hardware, then you have no incentive to buy Apple's own hardware. This knocks the legs out from under Apple, and they have a net loss from this move. They haven't done it yet for good reason.
The servers, AFAIK last, were spread around the world, with lots of them in Egypt and the Netherlands. There are surely more... I don't doubt that there is at least one server in every Eastern European country.
Fine. Its stealing. Its now criminal rather than civil. It turns into innocent before proven guilty and all that. Now pay going rate for each song THEY CAN PROVE were downloaded, in complete, as damages. 0.99 USD per song is far more reasonable better than 100.00 USD.
Well, see, they don't have to prove that anything was downloaded by ANYBODY BUT THEMSELVES, which is how they decide which IPs to sue... BY PIRATING THE FILE!!!

so americans can also enjoy the service we europeans have been enjoying for a year now :)
Us Yanks already have Jango, last.fm, Pandora, etc. Spotify may be better, but I'd say we can get by for now.
P.S.
The government grant of license to an artisan is a *privilege* not a right, and only a temporary one at that.
Yes, but when "temporary" means somewhere around life + 75 years... that's not so temporary.

I may be wrong on this, but the press release only says "the Warcraft© universe", not "World of Warcraft". This means that the movie could, indeed, have a definite ending, as the first three games did. Previous rumors seem to support the idea that the movie will be based somewhere between Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, as does the whole "Warcraft© universe" thing that was stated.

Hopefully for all of the druids who have been (whining|complaining|asking) for The Emerald Dream for so long, Blizzard will add it into this one.

Why that?
*Sigh*

Wine, iTunes. Done.
Yes, but every few months they'll release a new version and the old version refuses to update. At least, that's how it always worked for me.

Enlighten me, why would proving a theory that is another step toward a GUT be a negative step?

So is the cake, but that doesn't stop us from talking about it all this time later.

all the schools around me use eMacs and iMacs. Use your brain.
I didn't realize how strapped for cash the government was. How the fuck do you get OS X on that/those (or do you?)?
Many of the mid- to late-model ones came with OSX and OS 9 installed side-by-side. Google + Wikipedia are your friends.
