I have been using cacti for approximately two years now and can say that the installation time and configuration are well worth every second spent learning its in and outs. Even if this book is not endorsed by the cacti group, a comprehensive guide is an extrodinarily nice thing to have. When I first began using cacti, documentation was haphazard and scattered all over the place. This book is a good resource for those who are new to linux and Cacti in general.
I myself have been developing a plugin for Cacti named GPSMaps(Available on the cacti forums). The more I develop and learn on my own the more I respect the effort and reasoning behind the mechanics of Cacti.
Our "average lifespan" has been increasing because we're eliminating infant mortality, not because most people only lived to some ridiculously low age.
Or we are not considering abortion as infant mortality anymore.
Maybe less really is more sometimes. I.e. there probably is such a thing as being too clean. No need to swing to the other extreme.
I tend to agree. I am more on the age of thinking, "If i'm not dying(sick in bed), I don't need medicine."
My mother also raised me this way when I was a crawling around on the ground/toddler. Out of my friends I always seem to be the one that doesn't get sick hardly ever. I don't know if that is a trend means I am special. Perhaps I was exposed to more bacteria on a regular basis when I was young, and therefore my immune system grew stronger. Either way, it is an interesting trend.
All this funding is going to come from where?! More and more printing of money is just going to create a massive hole that will utterly ruin and destroy the US Dollar. I for one did not vote for this President his "Change" was never specified in his campaign. Well, here it is. McCain may have not been my ideal choice, but at least I knew exactly what he was going to do before he got into office. Hell, just 2 days ago Obama signed $1.1 trillion more in spending, on a whim. WTF?
The lack of common sense is astounding. Why do I sense that this is becoming the norm the more social giants like Facebook, Twitter, and others gain more social power.
Or maybe its the fact that because of these social sites, peoples stupidity becomes more apparent.
I was pleasantly surprised by the documentary style of the movie. The way it portrayed slums and how aliens and humans could potentially react given their situation. Without giving away too much, I thought the integration of the south African gangs and slums proved an excellent breeding ground for a movie like this.
The ONLY negative I have towards the movie is that the lead character drops the F-Bomb well over 200 times throughout the course of the movie. The last 20 minutes was a constant barrage of "Fuck...fuuuuck! Oh Shit, oh shit, Ahhh! FUCK!" It got to the point where it was almost laughable for how many times he cursed and made me question the intelligence of the lead character. If it were not for all of the cursing, I would have enjoyed this movie much much more. As it stands, it just lowered itself to the standards of one of those retarded "Teen drinking and swearing movies"
See that's where your wrong. If people traded in a decent car, around 20-25mpg I don't think they should be crushed. Here's why. Old vehicles that poorer people drive typically get anywhere from 15-20mpg anyway. So why not get them off the road instead and allow resale of the traded in cars? I know several people around where I live can or afford a new car from the lot. But they would rather buy a used car at a much cheaper price in order to increase the anoint of miles per gallon. I don't see the problem in allowing certain types of vehicles, with a higher than average mpg rating, being put in a used car lot for resale. If this bill really wanted to help the environment, it would have tried harder to get the lowest mpg rated cars off the road.
Interesting that you take "fuel efficient" to mean Toyota Prius. I think your own prejudices are showing.
I think it's easy to accpet that the general US populous accepts that the Prius is fuel efficient. Especially with all of the slanted advertising on TV. I myself do not own a prius, and from what I have heard from friends, the mpg around town is nice. So it seemed logical to put out a name that everyone would know such as prius.
Thats the thing, I live in semi-rural/rural America. I can definitely say that it only a small percentage of people qualify. Don't make the assumption that rural people all drive these massive gas guzzling tankers. Most families around here drive everyday sedans, such as an Accord, Corrola, yes even the Prius. Those that do drive some larger pick-up truck typically have a reason they need it for their work to carry their tools to/from the job site. Or produce the food you eat at the dinner table. Plus crushing every car does nothing except create piles of metal in some landfill somewhere. Why not put them up for sale in used car lots, create more jobs, and help the families that are really driving some old beater of a car that get even less MPG.
No, the traded in cars go to the car crusher. A really horrendous way of getting rid of the vehicle. Why not just put certain types up for sale to used car salesmen and stimulate that industry as well? The way the US government is right now...it seems to be a good trend. Pass a bill with only a slight idea of what it does, and not reading into the fine print.
I'm still not in favor of this "stimulus". Not only is it for a group of people that have older cars. But it rewards those who were too irresponsible to buy "fuel efficient" cars to begin with. Honestly, 5 years ago you could have gone out and bought a Hummer, and now you can trade it in, and get a discount on your next purchase.
Then what I don't understand is that all of the car that are traded in, go straight to the car crusher. What about all of the families that are in need of a decent affordable car, but cannot afford to buy a brand new one? Why not give a tax credit to everyone who buys/owns a new vehicle that meets a certain MPG?
It just seems like this bill rewards those who are rich and were environmentally irresponsible over the last 10 years.
If all the underlying story is about Steve Jobs' health. I don't see any reason why the world should be prying into his medical records. Apple makes good products and creates that anticipation that can electrify a buying frenzy. I say go Apple.
Well said.
The comments posted above are very helpful. I myself have been learning cisco equipment and find the replies very interesting.
Remember everyone has to start at the bottom. Just because you know more don't be a pompus ass, help the guy learn.
Does the EC want Windows to be Linux? Even on most linux distros, it install a browser by default with no option to choose. Then after the install process you can customize it via the package manager. Microsoft made IE standalone and completely removable. What more do they want?
Does the EC just have a personal vendetta against IE, because IE6 left a sour taste in their mouths?
In the unlikely case they may have finally recognized how horrible IE supports standards and are out to remove it.
Been following this one for a year or two now.

I hate rehashed shit. Way to go CBS, way to not be original....

I must say there is a good amount of documentation. Now I know that I am more likely to come across a happy smile face than a sad face.
There is a difference between fair use and pirating.
A quick google search should help that http://www.google.com/search?q=define%3A+byte&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t
I mean take a look at how many places say 8bits is 1byte
http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte -- but the modern de facto standard is 8 bits

There are several places including Princeton University that state 8 bits is 1 byte.

Thanks for the clarification. Many of the news companies were not exactly forthcoming with what the 1.1trillion was for.

Sorry for the typos, iPhone auto-text fail.

Not trying to be racist, but MJ made it that way.

You gotta do it the Apple way or go home. We have seen this time and time again with the app store.

Remember, Obamas laughable speech a few days ago?

Is this the US GOVT. response? Please Obama, stop making yourself look like a fool.
A true catch and release. I'm sure environmentalists will be thrilled with the success.
