I've thought it should be like that here in the US for a long time. Doctors must get pretty annoyed when they tell their patients they need X and they insist on prescriptions for Y because they saw Y on TV. It doesn't help that doctors' offices are full of pens and pads of paper covered with the names of prescription drugs.
Video Professor is a company in the U.S. with ads that are very common on TV. They consist of an older man advertising his videos in which he shows how to use various software. He then assures the viewer that he is so sure you will like his product, he will send you one free. What actually happens is that you get the free video (plus shipping and handling), then a charge on your credit card for another video each month.
I just upgraded from Jaunty, and it's been great for me. The only major differences I've noticed so far are the updated boot screen (which is beautiful) and the Ubuntu Software Center; I have no doubt, though, that there are plenty of under-the-hood improvements I'm not noticing, especially since I'm an upgrade.
The thing is, that's one of the things that defines cancer, so this is an important step towards defeating it. Cancer isn't one disease; it's pretty much any mutation (or, more commonly, series of mutations) that make a cell or group of cells override the checks that the body usually puts on division. Cancer cells don't exhibit density-dependent inhibition like normal cells; it sounds like this p16 gene can help enforce this despite mutations in what are normally oncogenes.
I agree; if their offspring could "contribute to us", then two individuals have interbred and produced fertile offspring, so they must be the same species.
Mod parent up. I want Darkvision so I can see in dimly lit dungeons! In all seriousness, however, it would be extremely useful to allow humans to see a wider spectrum than they currently can. Perhaps the hyperspectral vision of the mantis shrimp could yield proteins that could allow human eyes to see well into UV and IR.
What about child C, who is also inquisitive about everything around him? He goes to school, ask his teachers questions, and what they don't know, he looks up on the Internet, or has a parent look up for him. Since when does getting an education mean that a person can't ask questions and go further?
....Because its trivial to use a macro to gain combos on monsters?
Tom is saying that there would have to be mechanisms for actual skill in defeating enemies, which calls for an overhaul of the traditional button-mashing system altogether:
Of course, that would require replacing the simple "click here for an attack, you'll automatically hit" system.
He wants to mirror the drives. This means he wants RAID 1. Therefore, the failure rate of the array is 1/2 the failure rate of each disk (more, actually, because they're like;y identical drives that will fail at the same time, but you get my point).
That doesn't necessarily mean it's bad; just that people should try to forget their preconceived notions of how everything should look.
That's what stillsuits are for.
"Einsteinian post-mortem rotation." That is all.

That would actually be pretty fun.

Thus guaranteeing thousands of frantic downloads.

I agree! It seems that whenever someone describes a phenomenon unique to an ethnic group, people feel the need to cry "Racism!".

Wait, laws to stop criminals? That's crazy.
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good!
It's actually being amended to explicitly allow navigation and music functions: http://www.iphonewzealand.co.nz/2009/all/breaking-common-sense-prevails-law-is-to-be-amended/
That's why there's links. If you don't want summaries, don't read a newsblog.
Not to mention life as we don't know it. There could be plenty of life in the universe not based on nucleic acids.
What we need is a better Flash plugin. Really, Adobe, you can't do better for your own software?

When I read it, I thought "her being ready all the time wouldn't bother me!"

You are completely right. I am a complete idiot, and deserve to be modded down. Mod parent up.

Isn't this exactly what Wikimedia Commons is for? Why would this go on Wikipedia?
This needs to be in Blender, NOW. This would add a whole new degree of realism to the fluidsims.
