  1. Re:Dead People? on Researchers Isolate the "Smell of Human Death" · · Score: 1

The organic emission mix is what differentiates us as individuals. Every person while alive has a distinct odor, whether one wants to admit it or not. Upon death the body will release a mix of esters and other hydrocarbons, along with some sulphur compounds, that reflects what your body was composed of at the time of death. While there may be a generalized "smell of death", sensitive measurements using calibrated equipment could identify individuals once the organic emission mechanism after death is better understood. This is chemistry. Chemistry is fascinating. A gas chromatograph can tell you exactly what compounds, and in what amounts, a corpse is emitting, after capturing the gases and firing up the GC.

With Windows 10 at ~9% market share of desktop OS's, Edge is currently at ~2%. Incorporating Skype isn't going to help Edge attract many more users, if any, since it still is not compatible with many websites and crashes more than other browsers. I use Edge solely to open my Outlook.com mail since the Mail app in Windows 10 won't do the job. The whole Windows 10 situation is quite fubar, it seems to me.

  6. The flip side on The Economics of Drug Sales On the Dark Web · · Score: 1

It is likely that grey market prescription medication, such as imports from Canada that aren't allowed to be legally resold at a lower cost in the US, are readily available on the dark web. That aspect of the dark web may be illegal in the US, but it certainly isn't immoral. The benefit is that with a ratings system one would have more confidence that they would be purchasing what their doctor prescribes at a price that they can better afford.

This should never happen with such people in place. The downward slope of the quality of government actions needs to reverse. Agents and other government employees need to start thinking at a higher level and working hard again with a concern for accuracy and a respect for individual freedoms.

  12. It is un-American to not hire American's that went to the same schools and can benefit the US economy. I've already done a clean install of Windows 10 and it activated within a few minutes. When installing cleanly make sure to click on "skip" then it asks for a product key or the install will be borked. Even when MS makes things simple they overly complicate them.
