Most wars and death and destruction came about because the children were indoctrinated by their parents and then grew up with those beliefs.

Nonsense. Religion is the problem for the planet.
But don't you worry, there are so many scared people on the planet that religion will probably win.

Its not a question of "coding for 2.x" - its a question of being compatible. The early version of Android were very fully formed, almost all of the fluff added later were in the interface (*).

If someone is making a new app they need to take a look at if they NEED 4.x - most won't - they can make their apps with the features available in earlier version of Android.

"Angry Birds" only REQUIRES version 1.6 - but is compatible with all later versions of Android.

"Remember, Windows PC makers 'dominated' the market and Apple had only a 'small' share. Except, Apple had the largest single company share and the most growth and the greatest profits by far. How many units are sold by all X makers in aggregate isn't really all that important here."

Just like once most people were outside working in the fields etc, and they all got suntanned - so the in thing was to be as pale as possible. That showed you were rich and powerful, because you could stay inside and didn't have to work.
Today most people have to work inside, in their small offices and thus are very pale. So being tanned means you have time to be outside.
