  1. Mail, Monitoring and Blocking on Network Webcurity Wishlist? · · Score: 2

Maybe they could clear somethings up...

I'd like to have clear guidelines on mail. How long do I need to keep it? Can I just totally delete mail or do I need to maintain backups.

When can I monitor/read someone's email? It's mine (well, it's the companies) but if MGR A wants me to give her access to EMP K mail is that legal? Can I monitor how many times my boss hits his stocks? When is OK to put a key stroke logger on someone's machine (don't ask, we ended up using a modified virus)?

Is it OK to block Accounting from mail
internet? To put a brick wall on their doorway so they are trapped in their damn Accounting offices forever? (OK that's probably not legal.)

PS -- I work for Lawyers' Travel... kinda ironic huh?

I prefer SIMS that let me do stuff I don't do everyday like racing SIMS or flying SIMS... (MicroSoft Train Simulator? Simulate your commute? WHAT?!)

    Anylou...

I played this dating game in the hopes that I could make a really slutty girl. But it sucks. I played for about 8 total hours. My girl just cries all the time about her neighbor and won't have sex with any of the prospects I try to pick up with her at the bar I built. I wish there was a shallow grave option in BUILD MODE.

Ugh! Talk --> About Interests, Talk --> Gossip, Kiss --> Peck

Evolution is also slow and v1.0 has done little to improve that. Further it is a clunky way to do mail.

I am open to suggestions to get it up to speed but my current experience with it is that it is too slow to be used.

OK so Apple gets lazy with their installer.

Some guy figures this out and posts it on a popular Mac site.

Apple releases the dogs after them?

    Why?

OSX runs on a few (seemingly very few) APPLE machines. It's not like this hack alows you to install OSX.1 on your shiny new Dell P4 1.8mHz machine.

You still have to have invested in Apple HW.

The botom line is Apple should have never tried to charge anyone for what is a Service Pack anyway.

OSX was a train wreck of sloth and missing parts.

OSX.1 is what they should have released in the first place. Hell, Apple should be sending OSX.1 Full Install disks to everyone who has registered OSX! Problem solved.

  25. The models currently in place on Would You Pay A Penny Per Page? · · Score: 2

TV and radio use advertising to pay for content and currently it works.

However, Cable/Satellite TV services charge a per month and for some content, Pay-Per-View, charge.

A Penny Per Page scheme could easily be turned into something very expensive. Consider a news based content page that short paged you! If CNN reported on the current War but only gave you 150 words per page you could easily be into 10-25 cents a story. Now 10-25 cents doesn't seem all that expensive but compare that to the cost of a local Newspaper. The NY Post is 25 cents. The NY Daily News is 50 cents. They contain many more stories.

Of course pr0n is a thriving business on the web and their model is close to a Cable/Satellite company. You pay X Doallars for some amount of time, often with recurring charges.

Most of the issue here is content:

Is Slashdot worth a Penny Per Page?
Is tucows worth a Penny Per Page?
Is Yahoo! worth a Penny Per Page?
Is goatse.cx worth a Penny Per Page?

Clearly all of these would need some sort of Preview Page to entice anyone to actually use them for a cost. Sex sites are normally unable to get anyone to get past their initial FREE PREVIEW pages, as most webmasters lament. Fortunately these sites do not work on volume. A few hundred paying customers can easily float a pr0n site for months.

Perhaps a Penny To Get In and a fifth of a cent per page thereafter. Pennies add up quickly.

Imagine if you were on the MS Knowledgebase searching for some "Hot Fix"; do you know how many pages you can inadvertently hit on your way to the correct file?
