XMas was a dark horrible time filled with dark horrible people who sucked the life from my weary, heavy heart.

Some of the bastards worked me like a rented mule even though was struggling through finals and others were hideous pod people sprouted from Hell to shop and bust balls. The rest was 'bicker without ceasing' family.

Now I actually have a job where the boss comes into my office on the 20th and says, "Jesus Christ Lou, go home, and don't come back until the third!"

Alas this year he and his marketing wife had their first baby a few days before X Mas so I have to work tomorrow.

That aside I really love the holidays now. Especially the part where my 2 year old boy hands me his homemade thing-a-ma-bob and says, "I _do_ love you daddy!"

Your argument is far more confusing than mine.

I say (clearly I thought) that NATM is not very good and that if you want to see movies that are "good" spoofs of the Teen Genre then look at Clueless and Bring It On.

What the Hell are you talking about?

As for your assessment about a difference beteen a movie that is a spoof and a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously; it is _you_ who are wrong. This movie, NATM, set out to be a spoof. They thought they were making a spoof when they concieved, pitched, shot and distributed the movie. They were serious about it. They were also about two miles short of the mark.

John Katz said it was a good spoof. He's wrong. By next weekend we'll all know I'm right.

  25. EZPass & Email :: The Connection on Email Turns Thirty · · Score: 5, Insightful

A few years back EZPass was introduced to NY. It took a while to catch on but now it is everywhere you can even get McDonald's with the damn thing. Two or three years ago someone figured out that a car on a toll road like a thruway could be tracked. Further they figured out, through the tracking, that cars weren't doing the speed limit and began issuing tickets based on time from point A to point B. The thought process being if you got there in this amount of time you averaged 85 MPH and if that was your average you were definitely going faster than that factoring accelerating and decelerating at the tolls so here's a ticket for 85 MPH; consider yourself lucky b/c we KNOW you were going faster than that.

The creator of EZPass complained loudly that this was not what he invented EZPass for, "I wanted to make people's drives easier! This is a gross misuse of the EZPass system."

NY State told him to shut up and poked him with a sharpened spork or something.
